Hotpoint washing machine model WF620, keeps reading TEST when you select the programme.

I believe the main circuit module at the rear of the machine has expired. To check this is so unplug the machine and wait a few minutes. Plug back in and if the display still flashes then I would definitely say faulty main module. If you are in the UK EMW Electronics do replacements for about £60.

On most hotpoint wash machines you cant replace or grease the bearing you have to replace the whole drum which cost around 100 pounds from hotpoint and a couple of hours labour its a common problem on hotpoint machines.

that should do it and if not get back to me, there is another way you can do it.

The safety switches that disable (at least) the spin cycle when the door is opened, may have failed. This is a fairly common problem.

While spinning every washing machine is very noisy as it rotates in very high speed.This is normal and no need to worry.

The appliance appears to be in shop test mode, to de-activate it follow these steps.
there is 3 differnt variations so here are all 3.
Press the Start/Cancel button until all the console LED's illuminate.
Press both Start/Cancel and On/Off buttons together until
d OFF appears.
The default screen returns and you can select a new programme.
Note:- The default screen information displayed on these models is that of the programme currently selected by the selector knob.

Version 2 ( during Date Code 39 March 2005- to Date Code 42 June 2005)

To Activate

1. Same method as version 1.

To Deactivate

1. Simply press the Cancel button and the appliance returns to default.

Version 3 (During Date Code 43 June 2005 - to date )

To Activate

1. Press On/Off and Start/Cancel together with the top left option button until d On appears.

To Deactivate

1. Press On/Off and Start/Cancel toghether with top left option button until d OF appears.

These variations could explain why some of us have to make several attempts to clear tESt.

press start once
then press start again now hold on/off and cancel together for a few secs should no say d/off or something should work now

press on off button till test comes up then press on off and start cancel button together for a few seconds

When it is turned on, press the On/Off button and the Start/Cancel button at the same time until the display reads "dOff". This worked for my washing machine after repeatedly displaying "Test" and doing nothing else.

Switch on the machine and presss the start/cancel button this should take the "test" off the display. Then press and hold both the start/cancel and on/off buttons for a few seconds. The display will show d off and then the waher will work as normal.
