I love this one. I've actually done this many times before and have been successful.

1. Turn the computer off and unplug the power cord from the back of the tower.

2. Press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds while the computer is unplugged (this drains the remaining power from the capacitors on the motherboard).

3. Plug the computer back in and turn it on.

If that does not work, follow steps 1 and 2 again, but this time:

3. Open the computer while it is unplugged and unplug the power supply from the motherboard then hold down the power button again for 3 seconds. (You may also want to take the RAM out and put in back in)

4. Plug everything back in and turn the computer on.

HP w1907 LCD Monitor goes to sleep by displaying a "monitor is going to sleep"error after turning on the computer and doesnt display anything. It works intermittently, in that, if the computer has been...

so if you test the monitor on a known good PC it does what?
fails, then its the monitor
works then its the failing PC

all old HP monitors pre 2010 many had a sleep timer
so push the menu key on the monitor
then look for sleep timer and turn it off,
the monitor defaults to that mode, so dont push reset monitor or bam back to sleep mode it goes. so turn it off again.
all this is in the manual, lost yours, wana read it first?

read page 4.7 see that? (osd +advanced +) power saver OFF

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/418165/Hp-W1907-19-Lcd-Monitor.html?page=25#manual

if that fails to fix it (tested on 2 PC ) the PC1 is bad.
that be a whole other WALL OF TEXt, ask.

Hp w1907 monitor does not detect any input and goes into sleep mode. checked wiring and connections -- looks normal. No trouble until today.

try to connect the monitor to another working PC, or to a laptop monitor socket, if it works there... then there is a prblem on you PC display driver or display card inside your PC, try to connect another working monitor to you trouble PC and check if that works.

Monitor Hp w1907 has no input signal, how do I get connected and keep it from going to sleep

If you set the PC to go to sleep after certian amount of time than it will not put out signal to the monitor. You need to go to display properties (right click on the desk top)/screen saver -power/set the display to never turn off.

Hp w1907 Monitor problems

Sorry to her about your Monitor problems.
In the feature it would help to know what kind of monitor, the brand and model.
If this is a option, turn the monitor on, when you get image on the screen, press the menu key and scroll around until you find factory setting.
Restore to factory setting may bring the unit back and out of sleep status.
Try it, it may work..!!!

Check your owners manual for the power saving controls. In this section this should explain how to stop the monitor from going to sleep, or at least allow you to to set the timing for it. If this does not work visit the HP website and search the common problems for your model of monitor. search for this problem and the solution. If all this fails, seek help from HP technical service.
