FREEZER IS FINE. FRIDGE STILL NOT COOLING

Unplugged fridge overnight. Removed top freezer floor. Cleaned up all the melted water. All vents that I can see between the fridge ceiling and freezer appear clear and defrosted. Vaccummed coils at bottom. Freezer is fine. Fridge still not cold.Any thoughts?

It sounds like your circulation fan is not working. it is located in the freezer compartment in front of the evaporator or very close to it. you should hear running either all the time except in the defrost cycle. on some models the fan will shut down when you open the freezer door and restart when you close it. if the fan is OK you have a problem in your defrost circuit. probably a bad heating element or a bad defrost cutout switch or bad connections in the freezer compartment. sometimes the defrost timer can go bad but not often. I have found in my experience that the problem is usually the other two components I mentioned or bad connections.

How do I remove the back wall of freezer on samsung rb195acwp

Annonymous, what problem are you trying to solve? Is the water at the bottom of the refrigerator because the fridge is not cooling? If that then unplug the fridge, Keep the fridge and the freezer doors open after salvaging food items. Keep it unplugged for about 12 hrs and any ice buildup in the back wall will melt. You will see a pool of water on the floor. Clean that and the inside of fridge and freezer. Re-connect. You might get lucky!

when it stops cooling, you will see some ice build up in the freezer. Letting it sit unplugged melts the ice and you will see some water under the fridge. Connect power and it works. Cause: don't overload the fridge and the freezer. Make sure the doors close snugly. Clean all lint build ups by vacuuming under and behind the fridge after switching off power.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Freezer works as usual. refrigerator food area not working.

if you have another fridge you can put the food in it and leave this fridge unplugged and just let it melt out overnight or melt out the air vents with a hair dryer.empty the freezer, remove the back inside wall and melt everything out and clean the ice off of the packages, you should have no problems with the fridge after that.common problem with kids.

Refrigerator not cool, freezer ok

Either the freezer continues to freeze up (most likely due to low refrigerant, due to a leak), or there is an obstruction between the freezer and the refrigerator (refrigerators get their cooling from the freezer).

Given that it works after you defrost it, I'm going with low gas. Call a professional to see if the leak can be fixed. If the unit is more than 10 years old, just get a new one.

Fridge is warm, freezer works.

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.

WATER pooling in bottom of fridge

did you try to remove the 2 ***** in freezer floor???. if not remove the floor and check for ice build up underthere, if so:

you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over
