I have a Homelite hedge trimmer model HHT-2660. The scissor action of my blades is not functioning and taking the drive box apart I find the centrifugally driven 'cup' has broken away from the spindle that turns the smaller of the 2 cogs. Can this be replaced?

Thanks,

I have just bought a petrol hedge trimmer model hht 2660 with no manual I need to put some petrol in but am unsure if it’s 2 stroke or straight petrol can you please help ?

Almost all are 2 stroke. If it has a place for oil togo into the motor-like a dipstick, it’s 4 stroke. If there’s no place for engine oil, you mix your petrol with 2stroke oil. Haven’t heard the term petrol in a while!

Stihl HS45 hedge trimmer runs fine, blades move well, does not appear to cut hedge - what could be the problem ?

Dull blades! Lol, or they're not meeting eachother on each reciprocating stroke so there is no shearing action, much like a pair of scissors. Check to see if the blade bolts are too loose or is the blades are warped or if the cutting edges are simply too dull

Blade jams can the blade be changed model ut 44110 homelite

After inquiring with Homelite's parts distributor, I have found out the Homelite does NOT offer any service repair parts for this model. A little bit of research tells me why. Home Depot retails this unit for less than $30 here in the USA. To compare, replacement blades for a similar product made by Poulan/Weedeater sell for $26 plus shipping. My guess is that Homelite considers this a disposable unit.

If it was working well for you, go buy another one. For $30, you can't go wrong.

Homelite hedge trimmer , motor runs but blades do

Had the same problem: when I turn on the trimmer, the motor would hum but the blades won't move.
What I did:
1. Sprayed a ton of wd40 between the blades
2. Took a screwdriver and kinda wedged it between the blades to get them unstuck. Also removed some guck between the blades.
And it worked!

I want to buy a new handle for my homelite hedge cutter S/N 0706009769 model hht 2660 i have broken the holding handle and need to replace it

Good Day, mate. The best I can see is contacting homelite at www.homelitepower.co.uk. They have contact information on this page, however they do not show IPL(ilustrated parts list) and I am not sure the same information would be relavent to units here in the states.

Cutting blade doesn't move

a homelite is disposable, get a new one. You can pull it apart and see what broke and how much the new parts are. worst case, get the new one.
