Door Clip Assembly

Hello we have a Maytag front loading washing machine model number MAF 1275.

Our plastic door opening clip broke. I pulled the door off and dissassembled the door clip assembly and purchased a new door opening clip. I have tried to put it back together but cant. I cannot get the spring in the right place, Have you got a manual or instructions on how to reassemble the door clip assembly.

Thank you.

Richard

Washer will not start a load. Door was not locking so manually locked door and now cannot get door to unlock.

Hello, remove the bottom panel of the machine. You can remove the panel on most by useing a putty knife at the two clip areas on the upper part of the lower panel by pushing in on the clips and pulling out on the panel. Once you remove the lower panel there should be a pull cord or a plastic line with a loop on the end once you pull this cord this automaticlly pops the door open. If you have any further questions message me back. If you need a schematic showing the location of the cord message me back your model number and I will locate your schematic for you. Thanks
Rick
p.s while you have the bottom panel out if your unit also has a filter on the pump you should always take this opportunity to clean out the pump filter as well.

Here is a link to some pictures to open the washer. In picture 11, you will see a green plastic line in the middle of the picture. This is the emergency release for the door. If you pull this line the door will open.

I have a Affinity frigidaire front load washer and need to replace part number 131763202. The model number of the washer is ATF6000FS1 Thank you in advance

Disconnect power then open the door and remove the spring-hoop assembly that secures the door gasket. Peel off the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel then pull the door lock and switch assembly out. Transfer the wires to the new door lock and switch assembly then install into place. Put the door gasket back and secure it with the spring-hoop assembly. Click on the link below for the detailed procedure.

Driver side door wont open.solution on opening the door

This is usually caused by a broke plastic retaining clip.the inside handel should have a insert covering a screw pop out the insert and remove the screw. If there is no rod atached to the handel (broke clip) locate the rod in the door (a metal coat hanger works good) pull on the rod towards the front of the door and it should open.Replace the clip or sometimes the handel itself breaks needing replaced.

Hope you get a handel on it!!

Maytag washer

Hello
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

Faulty Direct Drive Coupling (Whirlpool / Kenmore / Roper / Estate)
The Direct Drive (motor) Coupling may be broken. Many Whirlpool/Kenmore brands washing machines utilize a small, relatively inexpensive direct drive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other.

It can wear out over time or fail under overloading conditions. This protects your transmission from excessive loading.

Cabinet Removal - Whirlpool / Kenmore / Estate / Roper Direct Drive Models

**NOTE**
The diagrams referenced in this article are available for download in the Attachments section below:

1.) Preparation
It should be obvious but the first step should be to unplug the washing machine. Then pull it away from the wall a six to eight inches.

2.) Rotate Control Panel
Locate and remove the screws (items 49 on the Control Panel Diagram) that are installed in the base of the both the left and right side control panel end caps. Once the screws are removed, pull up and forward on the control panel. The control Panel will rotate toward the back. Tilt it back until the hinges catch. Allow it to rest there.

3.) Unplug Harness
With the Control Panel Assembly folded out of the way you should now disconnect the wire harness that connects the console to the main case. The harness plug disconnects from the top of the cabinet.

4.) Remove Clips
Use a flat head screw driver to remove spring clips (items 6 on the Cabinet Diagram) from both the left and right side of the cabinet top. This can be accomplished by inserting a flat head screw driver into the spring clip and pry toward the back of the machine. Once each clip is loose, feed the clip out of the hole in the rear panel.

5.) Detach Cabinet
Now open the lid. Use one hand to hold the lid open and the other to grab the front of the cabinet opening exposed when opening the lid. Tilt the entire cabinet assembly toward you by pulling both the front cabinet lip and the lid. This should release the rear locking tabs.

Use your knee as a lever to lift the front of the cabinet away from the washing machine base. This should release the front locking tabs and complete the removal of the cabinet from the machine.
