Question about Labtec Wireless Desktop Keyboard/Mouse 967263-0403

1 Answer

Dear sir, I have recently purchased a Labtec wireless desktop keyboard and mouse with which I am very satisfied. However I have noticed that after I have shut my computer off the LED beneath the mouse is still illuminated. Do I have to remove the batteries from the mouse and keyboard each time I switch off my computer? Will the batteries expire more quickly if I leave them in place? Your advice and recommendations as to the best course of action will be greatly appreciated. B. Oldnall

No simply leave the mouse alone and it will "sleep". It only awakens when you move it again.

I have a Labtec multi media keyboard & mouse, MN Y-RAC66 & one MN Y-RB6.Neither have the "transmitter". Part no longer available from Labtec.

Most of these are brand specific. If the unit is bluetooth (I don't think this is the case) , you can buy a dongle, no problem. If not, you can try to find a used on for sale. You can buy a basic wireless keyboard and mouse new for under $30.

Hello, two possible solutions spring to mind.
1) Get yourself a standard wired keyboard to plug directly into the ps2 purple socket (next to the green one, which is the mouse connector) just keep it for those 'special needs moments'.
2) If you are plugging your wireless keyboard receiver directly into a usb socket, then you should have an adaptor supplied with your keyboard receiver that enables you to plug the usb end of the keyboard cable into the ps2 keyboard socket of the computer (the purple one) . That way your wireless keyboard will be able to work at bios level.
Hope you find these suggestions useful!

Labtec wireless desktop.

Could be radio interference from somewhere. I tracked my similar mouse problem down to emissions from the ethernet adapter that connects over the house mains wiring. Try the using the mouse close to the receiver, if it works ok interference is likely.
