Lux Audio 5.1 home theater speaker & Yamaha HTR 5540 AMP

I have connected Lux Audio 5.1 home theater speakers HT-8500 and Yamaha HTR-5540 amp. The source is from my PC's 5.1 outputs. But only the front 2 speakers are working. No sound from sub, center or the rear speakers. I tested the speakers with the diagnostics software of the sound card and everyone of them works fine. Just doesn't work when I play mp3 or movie.

Configure ur PC (both OS audio and third party sound driver) for surround sounds. control panel- sounds and audio devices - speaker settings - advanced - speker settings. so this done. make sure u select the 6 input channel - the button is on the right edge near the volume knob. near the vol button there are two buttons for selecting input type with up down arrow. from that u can select the input type this will be indicated on the top front indicator. but with the 6 input channel selected all selections are preceeded. if u select stereo mode u will have left/ right audio only.
make sure u connect the input right. connect from computer to 6 channel input. main, surround, center and sub-woofer.  connect the spekers to main (L/R), rear(surround) (L/R), center and sub woofer to terminal marked sub woofer ouput. this done select like i said before the 6 channel button. that should do it.

My 2 front surround speakers on my Yamaha HTR-6040 quit working. Any suggestions?

Look at the amp for disconnected wires. If OK then the amplifier may have blown output transistors.

My samsung ht-x30 shuts down after 5 secs and displays protection

Hello
disconnect all the speaker connections, and switch ON the set only, and see whether any protection function energizes or not. If yes, the fault is with the amp itself, and most likely to some damge of components in the output circuit section of the amp. If the amp does not show any protection, when all the speakers are disconnected, make sure that, any one amoung the speakers be the cause of this problem. Connect one after an other and find out which one causes protection circuit to energize. OK.

Well i have a yamaha natural sound av receiver htr-5660 and ive connected 200 watt speakers and my problem is my tweeters are only working and i would to like know step by step to on how to get the...

"200 watt speaker" is meaningless. What brand and model? Be advised that stripping parts from an all-in-one audio package for redeployment with 'standard' audio components doesn't guarantee compatibility or safe function.

The amp has selectable impedance. See page 16.

4 ohm speakers on Yamaha HTR 5540

Model number of the Lux? The only unknown to me regarding the answer is if the Lux speakers are designed for non-Lux attachment. If there are molded connectors on their leads I would be cautious as that is usually the manufacturer's subltlke clue that you really don't want toi mix them with other makers. If they're bare wire I think you're ok.

The impedance selector on the receiver supports minimum 4-ohm front and 6-ohm center and rear, so you'd be marginal on those last two, but barring excessive high volumes I'd think it would work. The powered sub is supported and its impedance spec is irrelevant.

Just curious, is this an upgrade in electronics? From what?

HTR-6130 will not turn on

Remove all speakers from the receiver and try powering it up again. If it still shuts down odds are it needs repair of one of the output channels.

I've got a home theater in a box with the HTR 5635 receiver. I've moved and lost the set-up directions and have forgotten how to hook up the subwoofer to the receiver. Can you help me?

YOU SHOULD HAVE A SUB OUT PUT ON THE BACK OF THE AMP MARKED PRE OUT IF NOT CONNECT THE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT SPEAKER OUT PUTS TO THE SUB THEN FROM THE SUB TO YOUR SPEAKERS.

HOPE THIS HELPS
