I have a Kenmore washer model 110.26422502 Type 111 that stopped running after filling the tub on normal wash. The machine will not agitate, nor will it drain if I turn the cycle knob to rinse. I've checked the power outlets, and they are fine. It makes no sounds or has any indication that it's trying to do anything, what could be wrong?

Kenmore type 111-05 hums on agitate

Humming is the classic symptom of a Start/Run Capacitor that has failed. It gives the motor a jolt to get it going.

Just a little puzzled why spin works though :>/

Washing Machine wont spin/agitate

The most common problem is the lid switch. with a screw driver in hand open the lid and press down on the lid switch. sometimes the mounting screws will crack the switch housing and the striker can't move the actuator far enough. I am interested in the clicking noise, as this could indicate a pump issue or a sock seizing up the tub.

with the machine off, turn the cycle dial around 3x very harshly, then try it again. If it works normally now, you'll need a new cycle switch soon!

yes the water level switch controles this does the machine quit filling when you turn it off if so eather the water level switch is bad or the rubber hos attached to it has come off

so it dosent make any noise?your lid switch will stop it from draining and spinning but it will agaite on most kenmore waskers.if i came to repair that would be my starting point

This is usually the lid switch. Check for continuity, you should have continuity when lid is closed none when lid is opened. Use a screwdriver or similar to trip the switch. For a video on replacing a similar style go to www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html
