Srtyws how do I get the "no input signal" box to shut off when my computer shuts off? I have two more of these same SDM-M51 Sony monitors and neither does this. the box stays on even when the computer is off and all cables are connected, nice picture when it is on, so no problerms there, just can't get that box to shut off when I power off. tried hooking up to a couple more computers and laptops with the same result. help if you can.

The cheapest method of all.
Make sure your PC is plugged into a power strip and after windows shuts down just hit the off switch on the power strip.
Unless you want to shell out some cash for a new power board for your monitor.

I have one old moniter on model of sdm m51d wheather it can be used for seeing elivision
The monitor does not have an input for composite signal of video or audio or the RF input .
So this is a long way out to convert the set as you will require a conversion with a higher cost which is not worth or else it has to be used with a PC using a tuner board.

No input signal, go to power save sony sdm-hs93
I f you see the message on the screen indicating 'NO INPUR SIGNAL', you need to check the VGA cable and both ends of the connectors also. Try this monitor with other PC also.

This SDM-HS73/93 have common problem: bad backlight assemblies due to poor workmanship in sodlering works, see my pictures below. You should also inspect the caps. This is not recommend for DIY.

How do i reset my SDM-HS75P monitor information box keeps popping up
Press once the Input button. The menu appears. Press the Input button again and hold it. Now this is reduced to the problem of blocking the Input button (holding it with something). (Not very technical but then again neither is the restart when the computer blocks :D) Cheers

The screen will not come up but gave this message 'No input signal, go to power save
To isolate the problem, you need a friend with another computer since right now, we don't really know if the video section (or card) of the PC is at fault or the monitor.
You need to swap displays with someone so you can be certain what is actually not working.
The monitor is obviously capable of scanning inputs for a signal and not finding one.
