Question about Refrigerators

Water dispenser I recently made a post saying my ice maker was overflowing on my westinghouse side by side fridge. Initailly i thought that it was the fridge scheduling too much water to the ice maker and it overflowing. Now i have discovered that it is not really that. What is happening is that when i get cold water out of the water dispenser water also flows into the ice maker causing it to overflow. It seems to get in to the ice maker from the usual way it would when the fridge makes ice but it happening everytime i get water from the water dispenser. ?wt

Wow that's agood one!!!! theres a short for sure, just a matter of where. somehow your energizing both sides of water valve at once, sounds as if it would be behind the dispensor, at the switches. would remove the dispensor cover and have a look for a bad switch or exposed wire

Just bought a used westinghouse RJ275M fridge. It seems to work fine except for the noise - it has a low hum and rattling noise.

It can be compressor fan noise,may be motor getting overheated and causing noise.It has to be inspected.

Before going to buy any parts directly.

My maytag msd2657heb i could hear it running but the fridge and freezer not cold at all

I have a Westinghouse side by side refridgerater with water and ice dispenser. The other day I arrived home to find water pouring through the back of the freezer section into the ice maker,and into ice...

Your water control has two sides. One side is for the ice maker and other is the water disapenser. If the ice maker valve becomes mechanically defective the water valve can allow water to continue to flow or not flow at all. Replace the water control valve and I believe this will solve this porblem, Thanks Sea Breeze

Water dispenser doesn't work

Replace the water valve on the refrigerator. The valve solenoid is stuck open causing water to flow freely. This should fix both issues with icemaker fill tube freezing and water dispensing.

Does anyone know how to fix an ice maker?

When the ice maker calls for water it pours for about 7 seconds if more will overflow and drips into tray , but the most common problem is the dual valve that leaks even after ice maker called for water (this valve is located in the back of the fridge at the bottom where the water line is hooked up.)

Side by side frigidaire ice maker not working

Check the water valve at the back of fridge. Are you getting water at the dispenser on the door? If so, the water valve may not be bad, but sometimes water will freeze in the tube that fills the icemaker. Pull it out from the back of the fridge and check it.Hope this helps !
