Tip & How-To about Cell Phones
If you've set a password on your smartphone, any hard reset will automatically become a Factory Reset. With this method, you'll enter a password and then perform a hard reset.
.On your smartphone, launch the Security application.
.If the Password box says "Unassigned," tap the box and create a password for your smartphone. Press Applications to exit the Security application.
.Now that a system password is established, we'll perform a hard reset to complete the factory reset. With the device face down, remove the battery door. Removing the stylus may make it easier to remove the battery for the next step.
.Remove the battery. Then put the battery back in.
.When the Palm logo appears, press and hold Power/End until the black status bar at the bottom of the screen fills and disappears, and then release Power/End.
.If you performed this reset correctly, you should see a white screen with black text saying "reformatting in progress" (any other activity - such as the Palm OS logo and then the Applications launcher appearing - means the reset was performed incorrectly; try again). Your smartphone will appear to reset again after the "reformatting in progress" screen disappears.
.When the Erase all data? prompt appears, press Up to confirm the Factory reset.
.When the language selection screen appears, select the same language you selected for your desktop software. The Factory reset is now complete.
