I have the same problem. It vibrates after pushing power button down for 10 seconds, but won't turn on. I have the Windows 8x and it's not easy to access the battery. I'm trying to find a tutorial to show me how to remove the battery (and replace battery).
Most cell phones the vibration mode is produced through the battery, nine times out of ten if the phone wont vibrate it is an indication of battery going bad. First try removing the battery and putting it back in, also try charging the battery while the phone is shut off. If these dont help you may have to look into another battery. Hope this helps.
the phone vibrates then turns off?
there is a battery issue causing the device to powercycle after starting up. the sony ericssons always vibrate when they are turned on.
long story short, replace the battery :(
Mine did the same thing today. I found on another site a suggestion to remove the battery for a few minutes (about 5 is what I did) then replace it. Mine started to work again.
not many people know this but the phone has a build in subwoofer behind the speaker it is also used for vibration my teory is that it blew and u can searc ebay for a simmilar phone cuz u can throw that 1 away cuz its never goin 2 vibrate again (the woofer blew my friend the same happend 2 me
Unfortunately, the vibration mechanism is not in the battery. You will eiither have to get it serviced or get a replacement phone.
I am very farmiliar with the MPX220 as I used to use one. When mine died, I replaced it with a Motorola Q. If you have GSM service, the GSM Q's are being relesed shortly.
Loss of vibration doesn't indicate battery's life is coming to an end. There are lots of probable cause to this problem. It can be mechanical - a small motor responsible for the phone's vibration might be defective due to prolonged use. Since I will not be able to actually check your phone, the best solution to this is bring your phone to a qualified phone technician in your local area for proper diagnosis. He's the right expert and the second opinion to that kind of problem.
