GE 13" TV loses channel programming memory

13" GE TV does not remember the channel programming even if NOT disconnected from the 110 volt service. Some times it will not start unless the power cord is pulled and replaced, then it will start. It also loses time on the display by large amounts.

My Technika TV model X22/14C-GW-TCD-UK loses all of its channels when I turn it off. I have to retune everytime I turn the TV back on, Any Ideas welcome, many thanks

All sets use a eprom in some form or another that stores the memory of what up/down channels are programmed into the memory of the set-I will presume no box is used in line with this set for signal---very rare for this problem to even happen---next try when turn on to direct enter a known channel and see if set goes there--then manually add it in the menu---if set does not lose that memory at worst you can manually add every channel one at a time.

How long does a TV have to be unpluged before it clears the programed channels?

There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

It wont auto program channels,i have to do manually and when i turn tv off it loses all channels again

The main system memory IC to your TV is faulty. It should be replaced. It is a very small IC, having 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control IC.

Trying to tune tv but it will not tune in to channel 7s and channel 10s . Have tried auto and manual tune. suggestions?

Good day!!

Example Situation:

If you can get the first thirteen channels, then that proves there are no broken wires or damaged equipment between PVN and your room. Your cable - all 67 channels - has already been activated before you even move into your room. So, if you are only getting channels 2-13, you definitely have a programming problem with your television. We understand that your TV probably worked great last year or at home, but you have to set it up from square one when you move in to Penn again. Many times when you unplug a cable-ready TV, the memory settings are lost, and you have to start over. Therefore, you will need to program your set from the beginning.

If that situation happened to your TV please re-program your set.

Here is a link on how to re-program your Set.Just click the link bellow:

I hope your problem could be solve by this solution.Just add a comment for more query.Thank you!!

Channel set

Apparently your TV is set to the "standard TV" position. Before you auto program your set, set it to the cable mode and then do the autoprogramming. In the standard TV setting, you just get off the air channels 2-13 vhf and 14-83 uhf.where as in the cable mode you get vhf channels 2-13 plus your cable channels. Stargazer
