The condenser fan is probably toast. Fridge won't run without it. There aren't any reset buttons. If there is any mud or other debris in the compressor area, the thermal overload and capacitor could be damaged. No temporary fixes here. Parts need to be replaced.
the reset button should be on the elec motor,it should be red.if it was leaking air you most likly have a bad checkvalve .it screws into the tank where the airline goes in also.replacments can be had at tsc.
That's usually mounts inside the compressor. It could still last awhile so if you can put up with the noise just wait for it to quit before replacing the compressor or getting a new fridge.
Good day, Sorry, no reset but if the compressor is not running, it could be the thermostat as well. You will need a VOM meter to check to see if power is reaching the compressor. If it is, it could be the compressor overload protector, the compressor start relay, which are both under a cover on the side of the compressor.
The compressor is located close to the back of the unit at the extreme bottom.
There may be a cardboard panel over the access that has to be removed but when the compressor turns off and on, it does a pretty good 'jiggle' that you can at least feel if not see. Its mounted on a rubber suspension to reduce the noise of running.
It should also be quite warm to the touch.
Unplug the Ref for 15-20 min., plug it back in and listen for the compressor to start. You will need to be behind the Ref so you can tell if the compressor or the fan is running. It will help to take the cover off so you can see the compressor.
Compressor not running but you hear a clicking noise. The relay needs to be replaced.
Compressor runs but not cooling. Low on coolant
I also have the same refrigerator model 106.56566400 and periodically when the power goes off in the house the refrigerator & freezer will stop cooling. Try pushing the on/off button located inside the refrigerator to the left of the digital temperature controls. Hold the button down, this turns the unit off, then press it again to turn it back on. This basically resets the refrigerator, and most of the time works to get the refrigerator cooling again. Try this first before calling a repair man.
