If you've replaced the battery, you'll need to reenter the radio code, a 4 digit numeric code. It's needed after the battery is disconnected or run down to reactivate the radio. It should be written on a radio code coard or it may also be written into the warranty book or on the options sticker under the front hood. Hopefully this is your problem. Good luck!

I had the same problem when I first bought my 2000 Boxster. I just called my local Porsche dealer and the service manager looked it up on his computer. He walked me through it and gave me the right code over the phone. Works fine now.
