Printer error after uploading printer software for my epson stylus 1400 to my dad's macbook OSX 10.6.2, the test page printed but when i try to print from adobe professional i get : pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number 13 the same thing happend with my lexmark x4530 and both the lexmark and epson printers work fine on my macbook pro (leopard), so what's the problem?

If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printercannot print double sided pages automatically.
You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time.
First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn thepage upside down and the print Page 2.
Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for therest of the document.
I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up onboth sides of the page so it reads correctly.

Your problems states that photos are being blank when trying to print it.
Please try these tips.

• Make sure your printer is selected in the Print window or in the Macintosh Page Setup and Print windows.
• The print head nozzles may need cleaning.
• Make sure your printer software settings are set for the paper size you're using.

Plus,i also wanted to know if you can print ordinary documents or print a test page.

Go to System Preferences, then Print and Fax. Highlight the printer and click (-) sign to delete printer. Then click (+), highlight the printer and click ADD. Try printing again.

It might be caused by waste inik at bootom plate of head. Try to print blank pages (10 pages or more) for cleaning itself.

Def sounds like a driver error, do you get a yellow mark next to your printer driver or is it ok?

You could try & see if there is a more recent driver from epsons website

- Print & Fax
- Select Epson Stylus Photo 2200
- Open Print Queue
- In the top right corner of the Queue window click the Utility button
- Epson Printer Utility will open where you can check the levels and run cleanings and nozzle checks, etc.

Hi, try putting a little 3 in 1 light oil on the bar thgat the print head runs on, the 'bale bar' as it is called can get dry and jam, only put a little oin in 6 or 7 places otherwise, you may end up with oil in the parer drive mechanism.
