If you keep getting this problem(green light turn on for 5 to 10 seconds then TV shuts down along) you get to try this: On ebay seach, type in "40E210U dead" there is one solution, good luck!
I've had similar for a long time, now the picture only lasts a few minutes or seconds. Have to turn the TV off, wait 5 minutes, turn it back on. That's with Sky HD. Used to be the same with SCART but I don't use that any more, and I get it with the Wii on Component. However HD DVD and Blu Ray players are no problem!

Way out of warranty but really just need some repair expert to tell me what needs fixing. Taking the cover off there are very few components and look easy to replace, and seen some on ebay. A fix from Samsung would be vastly in excess of the value of the TV.
When you have PS3 connected to the TV with HDMI connector, hold the ps3 power button down for 5 seconds, when u hear 2 beeps, release it and it should display standard format on the TV, thats when you'll get the option to correct the picture mode for the PS3. Hope that helps.
It probably is the Keyboard on the side. I've had this quite a few times. Simply pull off the back and unplug the side keyboard. It should be the last board in a chain of wires coming from the main to the IR sensor then finally keyboard. Unplug the keyboard and then plug TV back in and see if it stops, if so that was your problem, if not it will likely be your main board then. The TV usually can operate without the key board you will just have to use the remote for everything, but the keyboard is generally pretty cheap like $15.
It seems that the back light is malfunctioning or needs to be replaced the fact that it turns off after a few seconds indicates that is getting over heated. All LCDs, Plasmas and Projection TVs come with a shut off switch witch will turn of the monitor when a spike on the temperature is detected this is to protect the system from overheating. Now before you think about send it for repair; is it well ventilated? Does air circulates around it? Good luck!
