Need to change a belt on a hoover encore supreme upright vacuum

Unscrew the bottom,where the brush is.Pull the brush out.The belt rides on the brush and a small wheel .You will see the wheel when you open the vacuum.

have a look at the top cover you shuold have some screws in it remove them and lift off the cover to get to the bottom brushes

Need help installing belt on Hoover self propelled upright vacuum

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Ultra U6430-900 Wind Tunnel Bagged Upright. The best way to install the belt on a Hoover to replace one or both of the belts @ the same time for the best cleaning. The average belt change is every 4 to 6 months for best results. There is a tool that looks like a screwdriver that has a right or left angle on the end that serves as a belt puller and to hook the belt(s) onto the brushroll 1st and then take your puller and then pull or stretch the belt onto the motor pulley. Remove the bottom plate that covers the brush roll and remove the roller. The plate is removed by releasing two clips at the back corners of the plate on either side. Take the roller and install the belt around the pulley and put the other end of the belt through the access hole in the vacuum body. Replace the roller and turn it by haand to ensure that the belt is not pinched. Replace the bottom plate and turn the roller again (same reason).
If you look at the area beside the rear wheel between the hood and the main body, you will see a clip incorporated into the hood. Take a screwdriver and pry it away from the main body. Do this on both sides. You will find a similar clip at the hood just beside the back corner of the plate in the front where the plate clips are located. Pry these as well and hood will come loose. Now you can turn the machine back on its' wheels and remove the hood. You will see the belt where it comes through the main body and you can grab it with a couple of fingers and stretch it onto the motor shaft. Replace the hood and the job is done.

The hose part #43434268 and will sell for around $15 to $20. Dusting brush #43414145 $8 to $10. Extentsion tube #38634678 about $5. Furniture nozzle #38614029 about $5. Crevice tool #38617024 about about $5. Hope this helps.
