My camera just shows a black screen

it means either you have not connected the camera to the pc properly or you have not installed the software.if you have already installed the driver and software re-install it again and check the connections too.sometimes even the drivers make problem.

Check the set up. You may have closed captioning turned on which will show up as a black box if there is no closed captioning information for the selected channel. If that fails to resolve the problem, update this.

Mikomi dc-7120 webcam on Skype

Problem solved:
by shutting down all other programs including the webcam itself, this enabled the webcam to be accessed by Skype and all worked fine!

I only see a circle when looking through the viewfinder instead of the rectangular area.

Sounds like the aperture / iris might be locked... presumeably its rectangular when lens is off camera (or trying another lens).

I using msn it sometimes stuffs up.
try unplugging camera rebooting then plug camera in you should have found new hardware popup bottom of screen if it does not need to reinstall drivers
