I have a Panasonic PT-47WX53 47 in. Rear Projection HDTV. All of sudden today the screen now has red shadows that appear to the left of the images projected on the screen. Anyone have any clue as to what is going going on?

If it is an older TV I would bet that the red projector lense has dust on it and isn't able to converge properly. Clean it with qtips and alcohol.

We have a Panasonic PT-56wx53 projection TV that has a double image problem. We have tried to fix the issue with the convergence feature, but the blue color will not line up, red and yellow working fine. ...

Does this problem happen all the time ? What I mean is , if your watching the local news thru your cable/sat box does ot happen, or just when using aux imput. Either way, double image, or shadowing, is usually caused by a defective wire. Troubleshoot each unit, unplug everything and start from scratch.

Blue/yellow shadows

This is a common problem. Your convergence has gone out.

Common symptoms are...

1) 3D Video
2) Warped Video
3) Convergence menu does not adjust the red or blue correctly.

Panasonic PT-53TW53; Red shadows appear and then the t.v. shuts down.

The convergence output IC's have failed. Only fix is to replace them. These are large amplifier IC's bolted to heatsinks and have a high failure rate in all projection sets.

Shadows and text curved. Double images

The convergence IC's need to be replaced. The generic part # on them is STK392-110. This is not easily done by yourself.
