'coal'? Your Dodge has coal fired boiler?
What type of filter, oil, engine air filter, cabin air filter, gasoline, water filter, washer fluid filter?

Go to the wed site I Think stoves own cannon you should be able to your make of fire and down load a manual show how to replace your coals

Google the make and model of heater or go to cannon wedsite for manuals The gas fitter can take a picture of the coals before starting the job its not that hard if he cannot do this the find some one else .

yes he is right on that the postion off the coals have to be in the correct pstion to stop fire sooting and fumes coming from fire , if the coals are in postion you take them out and put them back the same as they came out , or there should be a picture of the coal lay out in the users book , or look on line for the make of fire , if the gas engneer cannot work this out then go to some one who can ,

this is basic gas fitting any gas fitter will know this if not walk away from them ,
