Drivers for this printer are already pre-installed with Vista.

Power down your PC.
Plug in the printer (wall and PC).
Startup PC - Vista will install the drivers and printer automatically.

SOURCE: I have an HP D5360 printer on a dlink dpr-1260I

I believe your suspicion of driver/Win7 problem is right on target. Many manufacturers have not created / updated hardware drivers to work under the new Windows 7 environment - which is much more security focused than past versions have been.

If the driver you downloaded from HP has not been tested and certified to work under Windows 7, then you have a slim chance of getting the printer to work correctly, if at all. If the driver has been tested and certified by HP, then I would file a trouble ticket with them, describing the problems exactly. You may have discovered a bug in their driver that they could not / did not test for.

HP deskjet 5650 worked great until upgraded to Windows 7 now it will not print on legal size paper

because of your upgrade you may be using a default driver module. You may have to reinstall the driver for the printer from the installation disk, or download it from the HP website.

My HP Deskjet 5650 will not print in color even though i have installed a new cartridge yet the test page is in color??

Just check your printing property and choose color print and apply the settings and then ok.

I just installed a new color cartridge for an HP 5650 Deskjet printer but it only prints in black. I'm printing from a MacBook, OS 10.6.6

Hi, Try printing whatever you were wanting to print but click the drop down arrow right next to the printer selection tab. Then you should see a drop down menu about halfway down the menu, click it and select print settings. You should see another drop down menu called color, just click it and change it from grayscale to color.
Hope this helps, Justin

It says that to see the level of ink in the cartridge you go to preferences and get a service menu. My software for HP injet 5650 does not have this option. How do I get it? Bill

It depends. What is your OS? If you have Win7 or Vista, you installed the basic driver in the OS. That does not include the full featured HP Toolbox and HP Solutions Center. You need to check the ink levels by printing a test page or an ink low monitor on the printer (either a light or a LCD screen display). For those OS's that have the full-featured software available, make sure it is installed and running (if you installed the basic driver, uninstall it first).

For information see: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=304445& and select your OS.

I hope this helps.

Deskjet 5550; Windows 7; Microsoft Office 2007; not printing

That is strange
Try changing the default to a different printer (Microsoft XPS Document Writer) see if it prints to it...

Then (If that works) try switching the 5550 back to default.

If that don't do it, uninstall thee printer, reboot and reinstall the printer.

I HAVE A \LEXMARK X2330 INSTALLED ON AN xp PC. I

I am assuming that the Win7 can "see" the Lexmark on the XP machine but not print.

OK, on the Win7 laptop in question:
Click Control Panel > Printers > Add Local Printer
Create New Port = Local Port
Port name is \\yourXPcomputername\Printername

Now Win7 will install a print driver to work with the shared Lexmark printer.

I want a software for my printer.

No Problem! Just go to HP.com/Support and download it.

There is one thing, however. You must get THE software for YOUR Deskjet. HP lists four different models for the Deskjet 5650 series. The 5650, the 5650w, the 5652, and the 5655. The software MAY, be the same for all models of this series, but I don't take chances, and give erroneous information.
Viewing the Deskjet from the front, the model number is on the lower right side.

Here is HP.com/Support, the page for the Deskjet 5650 Color Inkjet series, and the specific page that you choose which model you have,
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_query=Deskjet+5650&submit.x=3&submit.y=2

I'm going to click on the top model listed, HP Deskjet 5650 Color Inkjet Printer,
as an example.
Now click on the -> Software & Driver downloads heading.
Now choose which Operating System you are using.
I see they only have the Diagnostic Utility available, if you are using Windows Vista.
If you are using Windows XP, they have the full software package available.
