According to, you have 6 3/4" speakers in the front and rear doors, 4"x10" in the rear pillars. The 6 3/4" locations should be able to fit 6 1/2" and 5 1/4" speakers using adapters. I would imagine the same could be said for using 6"x9" speakers in the 4"x10" pillar locations.

To edit my comment, normally you can put smaller speakers in larger locations using adapters. In the case of your 4"x10" locations, you will probably not be able to install 6"x9" speakers, as the 6" height would be too tall. Sorry!

Actually, i have a 1999 chevy suburban and you have 6 1/2" in the front doors, 5 1/4" in the 2nd row doors and 4"x10" in the rear pillars, so you shouldnt need any adaptors. i am assuming you bought the suburban stock and not a special edition or anything.
