Question about Avaya 4610SW IP Phone

Unable to conference in more than one external call using the Avaya 4610 and 4621 IP phone Is there a configuration item to enable this in CMS ?

The conference is not configured in the cms it is configured in the asa or cm and cms is just for reporting not for configuring any other ip telephony configurations.

Sounds like the phone is working fine. When it displays "Discover 192.168.xxx.xxx" it is looking for the call server (Phone system) and cant find it. Make sure the phones IP is in the same subnet of the phone system. Make sure that the phones IP and the system IP can both be pinged from the network.

The Avaya 4610sw phone will not find the main phone system an Avaya G350 it has been unplugged from the system and when it was plugged back in it would not find the router or system


It's probably a problem with your DHCP settings, if you try manually setting the IP configuration on the phone it should find the server/control unit, haven't used 46x series myself, but if you reboot the phone at some point it should give an option to configure manually, if you have another working phone you could get the IP configuration off that one, think you can find them somewhere in the option panel on a working phone.

I have a Avaya 4690 ip phone. when I reseat the ethernet cables for the phone after initializing it comes up with "registration error". How do I fix that?


That phone is registerring with a server. There is nothing you will be able to do. You need to contact your system administrator

You have to manually enter the callserver IP address (CLAN card). The 4690 are not in the 46xxsettings file.

Talk to your system admin. You have a Definity system, which is too complicated for online help. The phone isnt seeing either the license server or the Phone system. There is more than likely an incorrect IP address somewhere.

LCD Display keeps flashing "INITIALIZING"


It needs to be plugged into a properly configured Avaya Definity digital port / wall jack. (NOT a regular telephone line as this can damage the polycom!!!) Does another Avaya digital phone work in that jack? If it does then call polycom for a RMA and eturn the phone under warrenty. If another Avaya digital phone does also does not work you need to check the PBX configuration or there is a wiring error at the jack or the PBX.
