Make "fast draft" your default setting, otherwise, whenever you open a new document, it will print it in "normal mode".

I have a similar issue and have checked both the machine I am working on and the one the printer is attached to.

When you click to print something, you will get what's called the Print Dialogue box. Before clicking "OK", click the Properties button.26849353-6c28-4abb-ab9c-b5e445a1b08b.jpgThis will take you to a screen with some tabs. Click on the Paper/Quality tab. Somewhere in that window you will see some options for "Print Quality".

By default, it is probably set to "Normal". That's the middle setting. To save ink, you can set it to Fast Normal (better for ink saving) or Fast Draft (best for ink saving). This means the printer will use less ink to print the page. The final copy will look a little lighter but certainly still readable.

This option "fast draft" will print very fast and also save your ink.

How do I set up my printer defaults to print in draft format and in Black & white. My printer currently prints in Normal and in color.

Select "print" from the "File" menu when the printer dialog box opens select "Properties" then "Printer Shortcuts" go to the "Print Quality" box and select "Fast Draft" now at the top of the window the last tab is "Color", go there and select "Print in Grayscale".

It really prints so slow

Hi,
Try setting the printing properties to fast draft or draft. It provides a average quality document faster using less ink.
To do this, go to Start->Control Panel and then Printers. Right click on your printer and choose printing preferences. Find the setting for the quality and select Draft or Fast Draft if it is available.
Please note that this printer has a rate of 5.36 pages per minute, so even with the draft you will not see much difference.

Prints slow

Check to see what quality you are printing in, all printers print slower in normal mode compared to fast or draft mode. When you go to print click on property and change the quality. This is normally a temporary fix to keep the settings you need to do the same thing inside the printers folder.

Fast draft printing and 'normal' printing are the same

I'm having the problem too in addition to not being able to print on both sides (duplex printing).

Hi,

Hope this gives you an idea. When printing from your pc, please select print properties to draft/best printing resolution. We'll see the difference between fast draft to best. Else you'll have to allign the printer settings from your pc, using the printers alignment tool.
