First off, there is a big difference between windows 2000 and xp.
She needs her windows 2000 install disks and to re-install windows. Then she needs to install her service packs onto it. Either that or upgrade to windows xp. Id suggest she upgrade if she has decent hardware(memory, cpu and hard drive space)

There is no shortcut or work around unless you want to start using pirated stuff, which is probably not a good idea since most of that stuff is just an avenue for viruses and backdoor programs.

I need a windows service pack 2 to run many of my programs.

The best solution is to use Windows Update to automatically download and install the service pack. Note that you should also install Service Pack 3 when it is offered, as it fixes a number of bugs and security problems, and will be needed to run some even newer programs.

If you do not have Internet access on this computer, you can manually download and install the service pack here:

My window xp2 is not installing window installer 3.1 help me

Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable supports Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or later, Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 1, Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2003. Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 contains Windows Installer 3.1 and therefore can't be installed or upgraded by this redistributable.

Read the above, Windows Installer 3.1 already in in SP2. Why do you need to install it?
