Put the unit into standby mode Press menu for at least a second untill menu appears and then select the aux option and edit it to either aux on1 or aux on2 or aux off. Anyproblems and you can download the pdf for free from internet
Try putting the unit in standby via the "SRC" button FIRST..., then press the menu button and cycle through to the "AUX 1" option and activate this....then press menu button again. When the unit is next switched on, you should have an "AUX" option accessible via the "SRC" button which will cycle through all of the availale modes ....standby-tuner-cd-aux etc etc.

Are you sure it is an AUX input?
According to the Manufacturers Specs, the AUX, is an optional accessory.
There is a Pre-Amp connection, which would be an output, hence causing the problem you are having.
Best of Luck.
Turn the ignition key to on or accessory position, turn the stereo off, then hold the function key for a couple seconds, the stereo will turn on and you scroll through the menu with the left and right arrow buttons and change settings with the up and down buttons
