I lost my manual, how do I record from the VCR to the DVD on my DRDVD4005?

Saving a tape onto a disc: 1) Press DVD/VCR to set unit to DVD mode, DVD indicator will light. 2) Press rec mode/speed and select the recording mode. The recording mode is indicated on both the TV screen and the display window. 3)Press dubbing , the unit is changed to DVD mode automatically. The VCR IS waiting for playback and the DVD is waiting for recording. Then the following message will appear: confirm dubbing. 5)press yes and then enter. Dubbing starts.

Hi, I get all the way to step 3 and then i encounter problems. When I press DUBBING, the unit does not automatically change to DVD mode. What do I do?
