Download a copy of Hiren's Boot CD from here and burn it on a disc: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/
Upon start up you will get a menu similar to this one:


Under advanced boot options boot from the one that suits your operatin system (XP or Vista or Windows 7). If it loads it means the bootmgr is corrupt, you can try to repair it with the Windows installation disc, instead of Install choose Repair.

Now, regarding the BIOS password, you will have to select Dos Boot CD and go to BIOS/CMOS menu and run Kill CMOS to wipe the BIOS completely or there are some utilities there that can reset just password. Is there a yellow exclamation mark next to the video controller when you look at it in the control panel device manager. If so, right click on the affected device and select update driver software to allow Windows to search and install. Other than that, go to the Acer website and search for the specific VGA Controller driver for your laptop in their service and support pages.

Install your Intel 915 chipset compatible driver and Intel VGA compatible driver (for Win7)

Try the manufacturer of your graphics card for an updated driver. If they don't do one you could try a vista one and if that doesn't work try installing it as an admin in compatibility mode.
