Broken screen on TI 84 Plus SE, TI83 plus and on ti73's I have about 25 graphing calculators. Students have simply scratched the clear plastic screen on 3 of the TI-73's. But the others have had the under screen broken as well as the plastic top screen. There are big purple blotches on the screens. Only one is a 84+SE. The rest are 73's 9both the newer Explorer and the old gray kind) Can the screens be replaced?

I suppose they can be replaced. You should contact the TI Consumer Support Department at [email protected]. They will be able to tell you where in your area of residence you can have the calculators serviced and how much It will cost you.

I have heard about a Casio program that gives credit towards the purchase of Casio calculators in exchange of TI calculators. Here is the link to the trade-in program.
I believe it is worth investigating this. You may end up replacing the calculators at a lower price. Casio calculators are very good and less expensive than the TI. You will be surprised to hear that Casio is the inventor of the LCD screen.

My TI-84 Plus won't let me graph trigonometric functions.

Is it somehow preventing you from graphing, or are you simply not getting the graph you expect?

Most likely you have the angular mode set wrong. You probably want it set to radians. Press MODE, move to the third line, highlight RADIAN, press ENTER, then 2ND [QUIT].

If it's not the angular mode, please reply to this post and give an example or two.

Several of my students using TI-84 plus calculators cannot get them to graph more than one equation simultaneously. We've tried highlighting the = signs, but when one is highlighted, the others are not. ...

OK. There is an application installed in the calculator called Transfrm. Once you run it, it takes over graphing capabilities from the native OS, and stays in memory. You must unload it from RAM.
To do so
  1. Press the [APPS] key
  2. Select [:Transfrm] and press [ENTER].
  3. The new screen invites you to Uninstall Tranfrm or to continue.
  4. Select the number the corresponds to Uninstall
  5. Validate as required.
  6. Once the APP is kicked out of memory you will be able to graph UP to 10 functions.

TI 84 plus calculator refuses to graph more than one function

Hello,
Please, read the following, even if you already know some of its contents.
  1. Once you enter an equation, the corresponding equal sign is highlighted by default.
  2. Before you draw the 2 graphs, move the cursor to Y3 or Y4 and verify that the = signs for Y1 and Y2 remain highlighted.
  3. If one is not highlighted, move the cursor on it and press ENTER.
  4. If you still have problem, press [2nd][STATPLOTS][4: PlotsOff] [ENTER].
  5. Command PlotsOff echoes on main screen.
  6. Press [ENTER], screen displays Done.
  7. Restart the graphing procedure.
  8. If all else fails, just reset the RAM by pressing [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All RAM][2:Reset], press [CLEAR] to clear the message.
You should make it a habit to clear the RAM every time you start a new type of problem.

Hope it helps.

Graph button won't graph, then it exits and put's a 4 instead ?

Hello,
It seems that wires got crossed. I suggest you reset all RAM by the follwing steps
[2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset][ENTER]
Ram cleared will be displayed on screen. [CLEAR] to go to the home screen.

If that does not solve your problem, reinstall the OS. Post a question on how to install OS, if you want, or read some of the posts on TI83/84/89 about same subject.

If nothing works, I am afraid you will have to repair the calculator.

Hope it helps.
