All Whistler radar detectors are Center pin positive. Need a 2 amp fuse in the lighter plug. Unit operates on 12 volts.

All Whistler corded radar detectors operate at 12 volts, center pin positive.

Hi-I have one also-great detector-probably the most complicated one I've ever had! Possibly you are in battery saver mode which will turn off 1,3,6 hour increments! About the 14th time on menu you will see B SVR ON at that time push the Q button to inactivate the battery saver mode-should show B SVR OFF. John

The lower end Whistler radar detector models do not have particularly good performance against all radar gun frequencies. Whistler's XTR-690, Pro78 and XTR-695 on the other hand do perform very well against all police radar guns. Its basically a matter of you get what you pay for.

call 800-531-0004 to order a speaker for your 1660. For the XTR-690 its best to return it for service under warranty.
