Haier Washer M # XQG50-11

Sounds like main drum bearing is gone. What's involved to replace it? Is it an outer tub replacement?

Once you remove the rear access panel, you would see the main pulley on the rear of the outer tub. You need to remove that nut with a metric allen wrench. once the pulley is off, you can then remove the bolts holding the yoke in place. The Yoke and the bearings are available as a part assembly from haier. It is highly unlikely that you would need to replace the outer tub.

Why does washer sound like a helicopter during the spin cycle

If the washer is making a loud noise the tub bearing might need to be replaced. This is a very involved repair and will require disassembling most of the washer and is time consuming. It also poses shock hazards. The manufacturer recommends that if possible the complete outer tub and bearing be replaced rather than attempting to replace just the bearing in the tub. If the bearing is bad the problem is going to get worse very quickly and so either the drum and bearing will need to be replaced or the washing machine.

Crosley washing machine making a clicking noise when I turn it on.. Machine won't do anything ?

(1) The tub bearing is mounted in the middle of the outer tub. The tub bearing helps to keep the inner tub spinning smoothly. Replacing the tub bearing is a very involved repair and will require disassembling most of the washer. If the tub bearing is defective, i recommend replacing both the outer tub and bearing.

Water leaking from bearing at back of drum

you better get at this soon, the lip-seal is gone from the outer tub and now water has penetrated the bearings behind this lip-seal,the longer you wait the harder it will be to remove these bearings and if its a plastic outer tub you can destroy this tub when removing the old bearings, the inner tub needs to be removed, the rear access needs to be open the motor pulley removed, the c-clip that secures the outer bearing needs removing then the inner tub can come out the front to access these bearings for replacement

I have a maytag neptune washer mah9700aww which sounds like a jet during the spin cycle can someone please tell me what this is?

The main bearing in the tub has gone out, usually happens form the water seal going out first and the bearing getting rusted. The bearing comes as an assembly with the rear half of the tub. Both the rear half of the tub, and the drum will need to be replaced.

How do you replace the bearings in the drum?

It involves a complete strip down of washer, literally down to the last nut and bolt.
Some models have one piece tub assy, so it is not possible to change the bearings.
Remove the top cover, and see if the drum is a one piece assy, if it is not, you should be able to see the screws securing the 2 drum halves together, if you cannot see any screws, then the whole outer tub assy has to be replaced, an expensive repair!!!!
tTo change the bearings, the whole tub assy has to be removed from the cabinet, and then the drum has to be split to gain access to the bearings.
Until you get to this stage , you will then be able to determine if the drum shaft is worn, if it is then this will have to be replaced.
All in all a long expensive repair to undertake.
Take my advice, and if the washer is more than 5 years old, then buy a new one.
Good luck.

Spin Cycle

Yes its true the main support bearing is part of the outer tub and is factory set .Dry bearing will roar until it develops a leak and eventually starts a main pulley shake that will cut through the back of the outer tubs shell. The outer tub costs about $175.00(varies)the labor (please sit down)yes, is high enough for you to go out and find your self a 15 year old Maytag top load, re-build it,scrap the front load, and never see a repairman for the next 15 Years. No joke!                             I/m happy to help you with anything you need a answer to.............Sorry about your Maytag    :(
