Pull off the clip and sprocket, then check the spring or wire behind the clutch. There is a notch in the sprocket hub that drives the spring when the hub is spinning. Sometimes the spring comes off the worm gear that it drives. If the spring is not there you need to remove the clutch to check it. It has left handed threads on it)
Sounds like it is plugged up with garbage
Try this
Drain the oil tank use compressed air to back blow the oil line via the drip port
refill the oil tank with diesel fuel run for a minute or two dump the diesel and refill with clean, new 10W30 or 10W40 oil
The old saws we used to run used motor oil in them but the newer ones your safer to use good fresh motor oil
I just got a Stihl 029 Super and the bar oil is leaking out the bottom. There is some going on the chain but a majority of it is dripping from the bottom. Any sugestions before i swallow my pride and take it to a dealer???
Have you done anything with the clutch lately? If the notch in the clutch drum is not aligned with the oil pump wire she will not oil.
You are using bar and chain oil aren't you. EVERY manufacturer says DO NOT use drain oil.
This thread is about an 029 oiler, I found it interesting.
