The paper must be hitting something to cause it to jam. Take the drum/toner cart out also the paper tray. Unplug it and hold it upside down and see if something shakes out. Do not do this over carpet. If that does not do try a test page. look at the leading edge for dings and bends. If you find a bent spot on the leading edge thats where the problem is. Its almost always a small piece of paper Steven 818-888-0006

When the paper jam in the print

I don't know what make or model printer you are working with but all printers have one thing in common. They all have feed rollers that wear out. If you have cleaned the rollers with simple non-ammonia based glass cleaner and it still jams, time to replace the rollers. If you have replaced the rollers but it still jams, get a stiff piece of plastic the size of letter/A4 paper, remove the paper tray and push the sheet up through the feed roller/registration assembly to force any shards of paper out of the paper path. If it is happening in the fuser area. check the rollers in the fuser to see if they turn freely.

Good luck

Paper is not being pulled from tray properly

Change your drum unit, it seems the drum is spinning good, let me know where the jams happen! In the fuser unit! in the cassette!

Just copy file..always jam..messagge"papper jam

Causes for paper jams in Printers are given below:

* Dust or debris
* Rotating drum problem
* Toner or fuser complaint

Dust or debris

One of the main causes for paper jams is the presence of dirt, dust, or debris in your toner cartridge. The paper coming into the cartridge would get stuck. So clean your printer regularly. Remove the dust from the printer. Also find out whether any jams occurred in the sensor hole in the upper part of the rotating drum. Do not touch the roller while cleaning. If the oil in your body gets into the roller, the printing media cannot roll over it properly and you can't get rid of the printer problem.

Rotating drum problem

If there is no direct symptom of paper jam and still you cannot do printing properly, find whether it is because of drum problem. If the paper gets into the end gear of the rotating drum and gets stuck there, you cannot access the printing function. Switch off your printer and check the plastic arms of the printer drum. If there is any paper piece jammed in any of the arms, you can't continue printing. Here also cleaning is the best method to solve the problem. While cleaning, check the arms of the rotating drum.

Toner or fuser complaint

Toner complaint may also cause paper jams. It can be solved only by replacing it. When you switch on the loop back plug in, two flash lights appear; then it indicates paper jam. The oil spillage in toner can cause this problem. If the toner cartridge is not functioning properly, the same problem would be the result. The diodes or transistors in the fuser unit of the printer may get damaged and this can lead to fuser complaints. To solve this problem, you should replace it.

Copier keeps jamming- prints a page but it jams on the inside. Looks like an accordian. I can open the side door, and pull out the jammed piece of paper.

It either needs a new fixing unit, or there is something stopping the paper on the paper path. Check and see if you can see anything obstructing the paer path. The fixing unit is what melts the toner to the paper, it is usually a consumeable option that isnt too hard to remove and replace, but can be pricey on some models.

Paper jam

Did you look both down the paer feeder, and then nside the unit really closely, in roller, and near cartiridge carriage. Jams can be so very small you can miss them.

Fax troubleshooting

remove any cartridges, take a can of air and blow it out, especially any sensors (which would be up under a small black piece of plastic sticking up in the paper path... that's the actuator). Once you've done that, try it again. If that doesn't work, try cleaning the roller and feed tires in the paper path with soap and water on a rag, or a gentle non abrasive cleaner such as simple green. That should take care of most jams unless its tires or clutches are worn out.

Trouble printing a thicker form

Hi,
I have come accross this problem on a number of sites. It may be the Paper Out sensor. It works by emitting light from one half of the sensor reflectiong it of the paer and picking it up with the other half of the sensor. When no paper is present, the light cannot reflect and hense a paper out error is reported. I have seen this error occur when paper with dark backing ( like that for bank and tax forms ) is used.

Slower printing speed

Multiple sheet feeding in any printer can mean many things. Paper roller blockages and jams, wrong paper for printer, too much paper in. Make sure you check right down the back and inside the unit for anh small blocks. This can then cause errors in the printer itself. As it is now printing but slow, the paer issue could be resoved but you may now have driver errors or pc issues. Are you getting any flashing LED lights. Have you checked to see if device is showing errors or functioning correctly. Go to start menu, control panel, performance/main, system, devices, scroll down to your printer, are there any yellow exclamations? Does it say it is working ok?
