EMachine ET1331G-05W does not have a slot for a SDHC camera card. How do I download pictures to the computer?

Hello Lee Mitchell,

If the laptop is not having a native SDHC slot, you have 2 main options.

1) Buy a multi-card reader (should support SDHC of course!), insert your camera card to the reader and connect the reader to your computer's USB port. Your computer will detect the card and you will be able to see your card contents as like you have connected a "Pen Drive" to your PC.

2) Option 2 is to get a data cable, connect the camera end to your camera's data port (SDHC card should be inserted on the camera) and the USB part to the USB slot of your PC. You should be able to browse the photos pretty easily.

3) Check if your camera has Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity options, if it does, you can share photos wirelessly from your camera to your PC.

I took pictures on my Sony Cybershot that I want to upload to my computer. I cannot use my memory card reader to upload the pics. How do I plug the cord into the computer? I cannot find a port on the...

Are you saying you have a separate card reader but it doesn't work? Or are you speaking about a card reader slot on the computer that doesn't work? Card readers have slots for different cards on one end and a USB plug on the other that you plug into a USB slot on your computer. f1def5b.jpg

Don't know how to download my pics or videos on the coputer

There are two way to upload your picture's or video's to your pc:

  1. You can upload video to the use of your camcorder connector. Connect your USB cable to your camcorder and plug it to your computer. You need to turn on your camcorder so that it will be recognized by the computer.
  2. You can upload also your video's with the use of memory card reader. Remove your memory card from your camcorder and insert it to the card reader. Plug the card reader to the computer. The computer will recognized the card. Now you can upload your photo's or video's.
Good luck!

I can't upload pictures from my camera b/c the usb link does not recognize the camera.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

Upload issues

You have two options, 1: you can use the smart card adapter to slide into a smart card reader, very easy. 2: you can hook up the cord from your computer to your camera. So whichever one is no longer working... try the other method.

Don't have a disc!!!

Greetings 0918,

There are several options to connect your digital camera to your computer to upload your pictures. One method is to connect your camera using the supplied USB cable. Most operating systems will have a built in photo program to at least import the files to your computer. The other option is to purchase an external card reader. You would hook the card reader up via USB and then insert your memory card into the reader, which prompts uploading of the files to your computer. Most card reader units come with uploading software.

Thank You,

Camera is no longer uploading photos to the computer

I had this same problem and it is a problem with the actual camera where the usb cord plugs in. Luckily there is a cheap solution - you can go to radio shack and get a memory card reader for about $15 (or some newer advanced all-in one printers and computers already come with them) and take the memory card out and insert it into the reader. You can transfer the pics from the reader to your computer. All you need for the reader is an available USB port. It is very simple and I have found it to be a better way since it doesn't eat up batteries either.
