sounds like the freezer defrost drain is frozen up or plugged . It is under the evaporator behind the freezer back panel. I use boiling water to clear and you may have to clear the line at the bottom where it dumps the water in the tray.
I have the same problem. The only problem that I have is not knowing how much water will eventually go into the tub. It takes about 4 or 5 days to accumulate about a gallon. I called the Whirlpool service center and the woman said they recomend turning the water off after each use-I think this is ridiculous. If going away on vaca maybe. Rob
We had the same problem. Luckily, we bought a 3 yr extended warranty. The appliance tech came in, pulled out a screw driver and tightened the lid. He said the left side frequently comes loose and that is where the sensor is that tells the machine the lid is closed. Tighten up the lid and see if that solves it. This washing machine BLOWS. We have had the warranty people out 4 times since we bought it. It's only two years old. First there was no hot water, the tech opened the machine and the connecter to tell the machine to use hot water was never connected at the factory. Water leaking from the bottom, don't remember what that was. Oil leaking from the bottom, replaced trnsmission seal. Fills with water and stops, loose lid. What a lemon.
it sounds like the tub seal is going bad and leaking on the bearings, not good, you can remove the top with a putty knife into the front seam one clip on each side(make sure no screws on bottom front, you can now check everthing out to see what you find, let me know -mike
Ellbee, remove the two screws at the bottom of the front panel and lift it towards you. Two clips on the top that hold it will release. You can now get a good look at the pump. Catriver..post back.
