My iPod touch keeps going to the home screen

My touch keeps going back to the home screen whenever I press music or videos. I've tried turning it off and on and downloading a new app then deleting it.

You should restore completely, but just note that this will wipe all of the data on the phone.

Turn the iPhone off by holding the button on the top and sliding the red bar to shut down the iPhone.

Now go into iTunes on your computer,

While holding down the iPhone circle button, plug the iPhone into the cable connected to your USB port.

Continue holding down the iphone button until the computer in itunes tells you that it has discovered an iPhone in recovery mode. From there, you can just click on the restore button. It will download the latest firmware for your iPhone (your iPod) and will apply it as well as perform a factory reset. Once this is finished, the iPod has been factory restored just like when it was new.

No matter what anyone says, the problem will eventually force you to do a restore anyway. There might be a few temporary patchups but when you start seeing panics on the system apps especially, there is something off. Restore and your set! Good luck!!

My ipod

The iPod is a portable music player made by Apple. As of early 2011, Apple sells four models: iPod shuffle, iPod classic, iPod nano and iPod touch. If your iPod experiences a problem such as not responding or freezing, you can reset it to see if that takes care of the problem. IPod Shuffle The iPod shuffle is the smallest iPod model, with 2GB of storage.
It has no screen and attaches to your clothing with a clip, making it well suited for exercising while listening to music.
When it doesn't respond, or if the status light is solid red, you can reset it.
Slide the three-way switch left toward the word "Off," covering the green bar. Wait 10 seconds, and then slide the switch back to reveal the green bar to turn it back on.
IPod Classic
The iPod classic has a 160GB hard drive for storing music, videos and pictures.
If it experiences a problem, you can easily reset it.
Slide the "Hold" switch to the "Hold" position and then slide it back.
Press "Menu" and the center button simultaneously on the click wheel and hold them for about six seconds, until Apple's logo appears on the screen.
IPod Nano
Apple's iPod nano has a touch-screen display and comes with 8GB or 16GB of storage, depending on the configuration.
It has a pedometer and an FM radio.
If the iPod nano doesn't respond, reset it.
Press the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Volume Down" button simultaneously and hold them until the screen gets dark, and then wait a few more seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen, followed by the home screen.
IPod Touch
The iPod touch has a touch-screen display, two cameras for shooting pictures and movies, and Wi-Fi for accessing the Internet. Its capacity ranges from 8GB to 64GB, depending on the configuration.
You can use the iPod touch to send email and make video calls, as well as play games and run applications. If the iPod touch freezes or otherwise isn't working, you can get it running again after resetting it.
Press the "On/Off-Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, until Apple's logo appears on the screen.

Hallow my ipod for music loched how to open it?

To bypass a lost or forgotten password on your iPod Touch or iPhone, you'll need to go into Recovery mode:

( First method that worked)

You do this by plugging the iPod touch into a computer then hold down the power button for about 5 seconds until you see the red slider button to power it off, slide to power off the iPod touch. Then press and hold both the power button and the home button at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release the power button but keep holding in the home button. Hold the home button in until you see the iTunes logo on the iPod touch, then let go of it. You can then restore your iPod using any computer but keep in mind that you will lose everything.

( Shorter method that I'm told will work, but untested)

Make sure your iPod Touch is completely turned off and unconnected from your computer. Hold down the Home button, and connect it to your USB cable. It will automatically turn on when you connect the cable. Just keep holding the Home button until the Connect to iTunes logo appears. That's it...

I forgot my passcode for my ipod touch.

It seems like you will have to restore it which i have researched and seems to be the only way, this will sadly erase all content so if you are willing to put back your music/videos etc.. back, then go for it you do this by

1) Connect the iPod Touch
2) Press and hold sleep+home until the device reboots.
3) Keep holding until that "please connect me to iTunes"-screen appears
4) iTunes says something about having detected a touch in recovery mode. Allow it to do its thing.

If you get the -18 error, proceed:

5) Disconnect the iPod Touch
6) Close iTunes
7) Reconnect the iPod Touch
8) iTunes launches and shows message as in step 4, but this time, the recovery will work

My ipod won't let me go back to main menu and i can't turn it off

The easiest solution is to restore your ipod. This will erase everything on it and reset it back to factory defaults. You will need to sync when complete to copy your songs / apps / settings back over. Make sure you've synced recently before you try this procedure.

Press and hold the power button and the home button at the same time. Continue holding. Your ipod touch will power off. Wait a few seconds, and power it back on. Is it working now?

If not, turn your ipod back off then press and hold the Home button. Reconnect the USB cable to the ipod touch and your computer. When you reconnect the USB to ipod, the device should then power on.

Continue holding the Home button while it starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.

When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message. Click OK and iTunes will restore your ipod to factory defaults and re-sync your data.

If this is helpful, please rate me accordingly. If not, let me know and I'll see if I can offer other suggestions.

Ipod touch

Maybe you should reset your ipod by pressing both the menu button and the power button. If this doesn't work I'm really sorry.
