On the calculator there are conversions of capacity (gallons (US or UK) to liters, liters to gallons (Us), gallons(UK) but there are no conversions from ft^3 to m^3. However you have the basic conversions from in to cm, cm to in, yd to m and m to yd. That is all you need.

To use the calculator to perform a conversion from ft to meters, you enter the number of feet, you press [SHIFT][8] (Conv).

The calculator prompts you to enter a number between 01 and 40. Each number corresponds to a particular conversion. In this case you enter 03

For example convert 3 ft to meters.

Enter 3

Press [SHIFT][8] (Conv)

Prompt: CONVERSION Number 01--40

You enter 03 (ft to m) and press [=]

Calculator displays 3 ft >m, and on the second line 0.9144

Thus**3 ft=0.9144 m**

Once you know how to convert one unit of length to another, you get the volume by raising conversion to the 3rd power.

For this to work, you must convert all dimensions to the same unit.

Simply square the conversion factor between feet and metres to get the conversion factor between square feet and square metres.

One foot is 0.3048 metres, so squaring that gives one square foot is 0.09290304 square metres.

Your calculator may or may not have a program for unit conversion, but the best method is to understand the metric system so you can do these conversions without a calculator. A meter is the same as 100 centimeters, so divide 11390 by 100 to get 113.90 m^3.

Rather than relying on a calculator, I highly recommend taking the time to practice metric conversions. It is very common for high school and even college professors to try and trick you by, for example, requesting the answer in centimeters when the question is in meters.

About 742 million.

Not all the conversions are built into the fx-115ES (the list of conversions is printed on the inside of the calculator cover), but here goes.

First, if you don't know it, get the conversion factor from meters to inches. There's no single conversion for this on the calculator, but one way is to convert from 100 cm to inches by pressing

1 SHIFT 02 =

Store this result for future use by pressing

SHIFT RCL (-)

A hectare is 10000 m^2, so 47.90 ha is 479000 m^2. Now convert this to in^2 by multiplying by the square of the stored result. Press

4 7 9 0 0 0 * RCL (-) x^2 =

And you'll see the answer.

Assuming you want a conversion listed on the inside of the case:

Enter the value to be converted, press SHIFT 8 to bring up the conversion screen, enter the two-digit number for the conversion, then press =.

For example, to convert 2.1 inches to centimeters (conversion 01):

2 . 1 SHIFT 8 0 1 =

You have 40 possible unit conversions (20 one way and 20 the opposite way).

Each conversion operation is identified by a unique 2-digit number: for example, 01 is the conversion from inches to centimeters and 02 is the conversion from centimeters to inches.

For the whole list consult your manual or the quick reference card that is inserted in the calculator slide cover.

To convert 5cm into inches

It stands to reason that you only convert between units as directed in the table.

The conversion from rectangular to polar coordinates requires the calculation of an angle . If the angle unit that the calculator is configured for is different from the one you have in mind, you get (not erroneous results) but unexpected ones.

If the angle unit under [MODE] is radian, the angle you get in the conversion is in radians. Similarly, if the angle unit is degree, the angle obtained after coordinate conversion is in degrees.

Check your angle unit and restart your calculations.
