When I turn on the power it looks like the TV is about to turn on but it just shuts down and the red light continues to blink 3 times intermittently and never stops.
I don't have a solution to this problem - I have the same problem and would like to know if SD Tech could make the step-by-step repair instructions available to me. I can definately see that one of the resistors in front of the STK' is white rather than light blue.
Thanks
Ok, you are exactly right. One of them is completely white. Im not to handy but do you think I can fix this myself? Darren

Hi,
I would not recommend to repair tv if you are not familiar with electronics stuff repair. Local tech will fix it for you, its safe and secure way.
Thanks.
Three blinks is short protection and usually means one of the two STK-392-110 convergence chips has shorted.
A very simple way to confirm this is to unplug the set and remove the back cover -------the two STK's will be mounted on metal heat sinks side by side and will have the number printed on the front of them.
Take a good look at all the light blue resistors around them---most will be marked 2.2 ohms--IF EVEN ONE IS DISCOLORED OR WHITE IN THE MIDDLE you have found your problem.
I have start to finish step by step instructions for this repair. Total parts cost if this is the case will be under 30 dollars.
Let me know what you find---I am here to help.
SD TECH
Keep in mind I am in California and differences in time; I am usually here from noon until late in the evening PST--
If you can solder and I give the step by step instructions you should be able to do it.
If you want the instructions all I will want after you look at them if they help is to give this solution a very helpful rating so I will get credit for having helped you.
Let me know if you want the instructions--
