More than likely tripped the high temp switch. This is made as part of the upper thermostat, replace the thermostat and it should start making hot water.

Hot water immersion tank. Electric Now there is chugging on coldfill after I turned off mains supply and ran hot water taps to drain off supply to fix a tap

If you turned the electric off before draining, Air gets into the system. It will sound funny untill all the trapped air gets "washed" out of the system. If the electric was left on when refilled, you may have a steam generating situation, causing the chugging.

Last year we had all the siding on our tv, trailer, replaced due to hail damage. When we finally got our trailer back from the rv repair shop we have had nothing but problems with our Atwood hot water tank...

Immediate danger!
You have a gas leak.
Propane is heavier than air and will settle on the floor.
The floor can be covered and ignite and you will not smell it while standing or sitting or laying in bed.
Absolutely open the door and leave trailer. Turn off the gas to the heater if the shut-off is outside.
Possibly you have a bad gas control valve. This should be repaired professionally.

When hot tap is turned on there is a banking noise from boiler.Have had new pump fitted and have domestic hot water and central heating.Noise continues, but not as bad as before. When heating switches on...

try by draining tank. it may have sediment build up in it. heres how. go to www.ehow.com/how_5544402_drain-hot-water-tank.html this site will explain it better. have a good day! Sediment can drift into recirculation lines, jam open check valves, and cause the recirc pump to stick until it burns out. it causes noise, sometimes enough noise to annoy, or even frighten, people if the tank is inside a dwelling. The noise is caused by small amounts of water under the sediment layer turning to steam bubbles, which then collapse violently.

Have a new electric tank, top element wont come on,replaced thermostat 3 times top element comes on once but next morning not enough hot water&top element wont come on,can someone help? thanks

The top element only comes on when the heater is about out of water. The water is directed to the bottom of the tank. Cold water stays on bottom, Bottom heater element heats water. If you use all that water then the top of the tank gets cold and the top element comes. When the top of the tank is warm, then the bottom element comes on. I would susupect the bottom element as it does most of the work. If you have an ohm meter, turn off electric, and remove wires from element. Check element for continuity. If you don't get reading, then that element is bad.

Amtrol water heater WH-7P gets barely warm water

From what you are saying it sounds like an issue with either a circulator pump or a zone valve. It depends on what type of system you have ... if you have a circulator pump that only runs the Amtrol then that is probably bad. If you have a zone valve system then it is probably the zone valve if you still have heat for the rest of the house. If you have no space heating then it is probably the circulator pump.

that's a faucet problem, nothing to do with the tank
