I have a Singer 2010 and it stopped winding the bobbin. I purchased a new bobbin case in hopes that would fix the problem, but it did not. I am also having problem balancing the stitches. No matter how I adjust the stitches the bobbin thread still is loose and at times skips a stitch. I have cleaned the machine so there is no lint or loose threads. Any suggestions what to do next?

How to load bobbin thread on my new singer 4411 machine. i have not used a sewing machine for 10 years and i have forgotten how to get thread on the blank bobbin.

First place the thread spool on the spool holder and secure it with the spool cap. Bring the thread to the left and snap it into the thread guide. Wind the thread clockwise around the bobbin tension discs. (Bring the thread to the right side of the discs and and then around the discs. Bring the thread to the right and then insert the end of the thread into the hole in the bobbin. Make sure that the hole is facing up. Place the bobbin on the bobbin spindle and push the spindle to the right. Hold onto the thread that is above the bobbin and step on the foot pedal to start winding the bobbin. When the bobbin is full enough, stop pressing the foot pedal (or wait for the machine to stop winding the bobbin). Cut the thread and move the spindle to the left. Remove the bobbin from the spindle.

Many Singer sewing machine manuals are available from their support page: https://www.singer.com/support . The current link to the 4411 Heavy Duty sewing machine manual is https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/SINGER%204411%20Heavy%20Duty%20Sewing%20Machine.pdf . The directions and pictures for winding a bobbin are on page 12 (page 19 of the PDF).

I hope this helps.

I have a Singer 6268. When I try to load the bobbin, the thread winds underneath the bobbin instead. What can I do to fix this?

change the needle
rethread the machine top & bobbin
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or threads
make sure there is no burrs on the bobbin case or that the bobbin
case is not damaged
if none of these suggestions help, then it might be a good idea
to take the machine in to be check at a sewing machine shop

Singer touchtronic 2010

Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric
4. The foot not attached correctly
Check & attach correctly

adjust the top tension one number or letter higher when the stitches
on the bottom are loopy, until the stitches become normal
also change the needle--flat side to the back side of the machine

check with singer website for a manual--some times they have free
pdf downloads

Go to the singer website

Click on customer support--there will be a drop down menu

Choose instruction manual

having a machine serviced once a year is a good idea & makes the machine last longer
and the sewing machine shop will tell you if they can get parts for the machine & if the machine is worth the money to fix it.

I myself have 2 sewing machines, when one is being serviced then I have the other one to use, so I'm not with out a sewing machine when I need one.
good luck

I have a singer Model #6234. The bobbin is wound

If the bobbin case is defective this can cause the problem. However, this can be a difficult problem to repair, take it in and ask for an estimate to repair.

When I go to wind the bobbin the needle still moves up and down and it will not wind the bobbin but stop beep and flash. The bobbin is as far to the right as it can go but it still is not winding.

Take it to repair shop, getting to the problem requires taking the shell cover off the machine, difficult to do, then fixing the problem might be electronic in nature.

Using Singer 7470 for the first time, and my bobbin thread is bunching terribly. There is a loud sound from the bobbin chamber, as if the mechanism is bouncing around??? How can I fix this bobbin issue?...

1. Take bobbin out and re-insert and thread.
If that dosen't work, try:
2. Take bobbin out and bobbin case, clean area and re-insert bobbin case and bobbin.
If that dosen't work, try:
3. Re-thread the top thread that goes to the needle. (Sometimes the thread dosen't hook to the "Thread take-up"(page 6 on manual). It pulls the bobbin thread and the bobbing becomes loose inside the bobbin case.
If that dosen't work, try:
4. Wind a new bobbin (Sometimes a bobbin might wind thread to lose) Do not wind thread to the edge of bobbin.
If that dosen't work, you should take it in to be serviced...Somenthing might become loose that only a technitian can correct.
Also check manual for troubleshooting.
Good luck.....

Singer 7444 trouble winding bobbin

It sounds like you don't have any tension on the thread when winding the bobbin. Make sure that you are running the thread through the tension disc on the top of the machine before going to the bobbin winder.

Singer 2010

If model 2010, the problem is a part metal- part plastic part attached to the bottom of the bobbin winding lever, the white tear-shaped thing with the arrow on it. If that will turn past the center of the bobbin it's broken inside. to try a do-it-yourself fix, turn upside down, remove 4 screws, including one by the plug (which must be pulled out for safety anyway) remove bottom case. looking at left end of the works, move the bobbin lever and you'll see the broken part move. The plastic part should be broken about half-way down. You can see how the part should push the white plastic bobbin winding shaft up and down when lever moved. the part can be removed by loosening the 2 tiny hexnuts holding it on the metal shaft. you'll need the smallest size allen (hex) wrench there is. NOTE where the part is at bottom of the metal shaft for when you put have to put it back on. be careful to hold the bobbin winding shaft itself in place, but it's easy to see how it goes back in if it pops out. if the break is clean (like my wife's that I just fixed this way yesterday!) you can put a drop or 2 of good crazy glue in the break, making sure lined up on the sides, then clamp in a vise (or hold firmly together with pliers) for at least 10 mins, longer better. wait at least an hour before putting back. putting back on is a little tricky but you move the bobbin lever to left (open) position, make sure it's just on the end of the shaft (shaft barely protruding) and see where the part isn't pushing the bobbin winding shaft. re-tighten with hex wrench then see if the repaired part now pushes the bobbin winding shaft up and down when you move the lever back and forth. Turn back over and move the lever without a bobbin spool- you should see shaft move up in the middle of bobbin case where it will engage the bottom of the bobbin spool where the x is.
Now if part can't be fixed it is available from auth Singer service center in you state but runs $40 or so. they'll try to tell you they have to install it because of special anti-static gloves that wont fry your motherboard on the machine's computer, but the center in Michigan finally said they would mail it to me. hope this helps! funny I just saw this after fixing our machine which hadn't been used for a long time until I decided I might as well look inside if I was going to have to buy her a new machine!!!
