if screen black but green light on then is inverter was bad.
if screen black n green light off or amber then check then monitor defective.
Try with different monitor and result the same problem, either the monitor or the video connection.

The green light usually indicates that the monitor is getting a signal.
The lack of a picture is an indication that the monitor itself is having a problem. I would test the signal with another monitor if you can get one.
I suspect that the monitor backlight has gone bad (if so, you can see the screen very faintly if you shine a light on it).
Or, the screen circuitry has gone bad.

Try re-seating the memory modules. If you have 2 or more modules, remove one at a time and power on the unit.

Replace your monitor power cord

if the message you recieve is no input signal if only means that you have a problem with your video card, the monitor is fine but you need to have your video card check

Disconnect the monitor signal cable from PC and switch on your monitor. It should show some logo with Red, Green and Blue colors with a message similar to "No signal". If so, your monitor is working fine. Sometimes if the brightness and contrast is set to zero using controls present in the monitor, it will not show up anything. check wheather somebody set your monitor brightness and contrast to zero. If so incease them. As a last try connect to different PC and check before approaching a service center. I hope this will help you out. :)

i had the same problem now my monitor wont even turn on if i do that the power light just keeps blinking maybe its a sign of a dying monitor

I found some solutions other posted that didn't come up the first time I looked. I did a reboot and I'm good to go!
