The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). did you choose the "delete photos from camera"option after you imported them to your pc? are you disconnecting the camera properly from your computer?

You can still upload all photos to your computer without the specific software - Using your USB cable, wait until your computer registers the camera as a new device and you get a pop up.
