The screen is fine but suddenly changes to blue and red speckles making it almost impossible to see the picture. We tried adjusting the wires but that no longer works.

Why red speckling around the border of the picture

try adjusting the voltages on the panel display, the voltages are listed on the label on the panel itself. Adjusting them up or down within 10 to 15 volts should affect that speckling around the picture, if not then the panel will most likely d to be replaced

Tv out of foucs

These procedures are from the owners manual, go into menu and then picture quality and then: Convergence The Convergence feature lets you adjust the TV’s three tubes. When the TV tubes’ images are precisely aligned, they create the color images you see on the screen. Over time, the picture can drift out of alignment (this is normal). If your picture seems fuzzy or has a yellow tint, using Convergence could correct this misalignment. Only one convergence is needed for all inputs, regardless of the signal format. Note: Make sure the TV has been on for at least 30 minutes (TV needs to warm up for best results) before starting Auto Converge or Red/Blue Centering. When you select the Convergence feature, a submenu appears with three options: Auto Converge Automatically aligns the projection lenses to self-correct color images. You’ll see flashing squares of color dance across the screen (this is normal). Note: After performing auto convergence, use the Blue Centering and Red Centering menus to fine tune convergence in the center of the screen, if necessary. Blue Centering Aligns the blue and green images to fine-tune the picture. Red Centering Aligns the red and green images to fine-tune the picture. Note: The ability to change channels is disabled when adjusting the convergence options. The TV must be tuned to a usable signal to converge the picture.

Color output to screen lacking red

Hi,
You have ruled out the graphics chip by plugging an external monitor in, the chips fine.
Now you have to look at the inverter. Sometimes a cable will work itself loose from the inverter, causing the display to go wild and show strange colours where is should be white.
What you have to do is remove the screen bezel (the plastic screen surround) this reveal the screen, look at the bottom of the screen for a thin circuit board with cables coming from it and make sure the cables a plugged in properly.
If you need anymore help or advice please post back.

Good luck.

I have to much red in my picture

Hi

First check whether all the cables from your dishnetwork are fine and connected firmly. If yes then you'll need to pull off the front of the tv, behind the speaker grill there would be a panel. Remove the panel and check for a black box hanging over there. It has 6 controls on it, 3 are marked as focus and 3 as screen. You'll need to adjust the screen. If you turn these too high you can damage a tube. so we are doing real small adjustments. Turn the color off on the tv and adjust the red, blue & green controls up till you get a fine picture. Also adjust the focus until you get a clear picture.

And, if it doesn't resolve your issue then it is an intermittant red picture tube, a bad red driver transistor on the CRT board, a bad connection on the blue crt board, or a problem in the RGB coming from the video jungle IC. This TV set most likely will run you about 200 to 400 bucks to have this problem fixed, unless it is the picture tube.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Screen hazzy and issue with blue convergence

bad convergence would cause show to look as if it was supposed to be a 3-d movie, if a bulb was going out then people would look purple blue -green,or some other off color, so likely the green bulb is going out from the color of the people you described.

Lg42px52 speckling.

The speckling is caused by the CTRL board. The firmware needs to be updated. Unfortunately LG does not provide a media slot for downloaded upgrades. You must order an install the factory updated CTRL board located between the power and the Y sustain boards.

Sony KP-57WS500 Pictures problem

Your Convergence Correction Amplifier ICs have gone bad (STK329-110) They must be replaced along with the biasing resistors

www.electronix.com has the parts you will need plus I would suggest that you have a qualified TV repair person do the installation for you.

Make sure the traces on the circuitboard are good and that the solder connections are good.

But the ICs and resistors need to be replaced.

Thank you,
