I have a model ET8WTMXKO0 that has excessive condensation on the back wall, that fills up the bottom of the refrigerator with water after a couple of days. I thought it was the ice maker at first and shut off the water supply, to no avail. There is only one setting on the refrigerator for both the food storage & freezer. What is it?

Door seals not sealing out air. Or maybe a defrost drain that's clogged. If the defrost drain is clogged, there will most likely be a sheet of ice in bottom of freezer.

THE DRIAN HOLE IS CLOGGED ITS IN FREZZOR IN THE BACK BEHIND THE BACK PANEL BUT YOU CAN LOOK UNDER THE FRIDGE AND FIND THE OTHER END OF THE DRIAN HOSE BLOW AIR TROUGH IT TO CLEAN IT OUT MAKE SURE THE FRIDG IS OFF FOR A DAY, OPEN FREEZOR DOOR TO MELT ICE IN DRIAN HOLE AND HOSE AIR PRESSOR MAY NOT BLOW THE ICE BLOCKAGE OUT DEFROST FOR A DAY THEN IT WILL CLEAN UP NICE

SOURCE: Frost buildup

It is not defrosting.  You have to remove back wall of freezer where frost is and take hairdryer to melt away frost.  You need to check defrost heater.  This is on bottom of evaporator coils.  It has wires going to it on both sides.  This has to be checked for continuity.  If ok on top of coils is a round unit called a defrost terminator.  This needs to be checked for continuity also.  This must be done before you defrost coils.  It should have continuity when its cold.
If these are ok you probably have a bad timer or defrost board.

SOURCE: Ice Maker

Found in the FAQ section on Samsung.com:
Samsung refrigerator freezers produce about 120 cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications.
Empty the ice tray and let the unit run for 24 hours.
If fewer than 50 cubes are produced during the 24-hour test, then your refrigerator requires service. Please contact Samsung Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service appointment.
If your freezer is producing 50 to 90 cubes per day, try the following:

  • Set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting. Freezer temperature must be 5 degrees Fahrenheit or less for the ice maker to work properly.
  • Make sure that the water valve on the refrigerator water supply line is completely open. You can find the water valve where the refrigerator water supply line taps into your house water line.
  • If you have a water filter in your refrigerator, change the filter cartridge. For instructions, see your Users Manual.
If you want your freezer to produce more than 120 ice cubes in a day, try the following:
  • An ice maker typically makes 1 tray of ice every 90 minutes. To shorten the amount of time the freezer takes to produce a tray of ice, set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting.
  • If your refrigerator has a Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button to speed up the ice making process. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically.
NOTE: If you have just installed your refrigerator, it will take 6 to 12 hours for the refrigerator to produce ice.
You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker produces (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice maker is making ice from clean water.

SOURCE: lg refrigerator LFX25960SW

the answer to the problem from a LG training class is... if the bottom left side of the refer is freezing food the liner has split no fix at this time. some people have beEn able to turn off the ice maker and the food will stop freezing. the ice maker has a fan in the freezer that blows all the cold air up the ice making Cobby.

DO THIS ONLY IF OUTA WARNTEE
for most of you with bad ice makers you could drill a hole in the very bottom of the ice maker towards the front right under the little metal arm in the wight plastic AND DONT DRILL DEEP just enough to put a hole in the outer case then hit it with a blow-dryer for a little bit to remove ice that's blocking the gear on that arm this works 5 outs 10 times

Clean out the defrost condensate drain found inside the freezer back wall and a tube running down the back of your model. You will need to force hot (with turkey baster)water through the condensate drain to insure the water drains down the back and into a pan next to the compressor

Why does kenmore side by side model 596.50004100 leak water from bottom?

1. there is a condensation pan under refrigerators, pull front bottom grill off & you should see pan. if pan is full it will overflow, pull forward to remove & empty. also check to see if something spilled in bottom of fridge & is running into drain hole into pan. most of the time condensation is so slow that it will evaporate before the pan fills up, but I've had them fill up on me in the past, not too often though.

2. if fridge is equipped with ice maker & clod water dispenser, connections on bottom back side could be leaking ( not likely, unless they have been disturbed).

there is not much else that it could be unless it is not the fridge & is coming from some where else & running under the fridge.

Drain clogged

Water is supposed to drain down a small drain line to a pan down near the compressor where warm air from the condenser fan will blow warm air over the water and evaporate the water again an put it back into the air inside your home, office or wherever your refrigerator is located. Over time that little drain tube gets slime, algae and a gooey white paste gunk that fills the drain line sides up stopping the waterflow downward to the condensate pan below refrigerator. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. Gunk is an accumulation of algae slime and just crud that appears from nowhere in a refrigerators defrost condensate drain line. How a refrigerator leaks is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down the rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example of a ET18PKXGTO Whirlpool refrigerator leaking water into a cup below the freezer compartment. Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian. TechnicianBrian.com. And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! Refrigerator Leaking from underneath

OK I will help but I think if you could find the model number and on some they always seem to be worn off or hard to see, I'm trying to picture in my mind if you have a water and ice dispenser in a side by side or jut a freezer over the fresh food compartment. If you have no water and ice then something like a leak has happened to de condensate collector pan or the drain tube has missed the pan. Without water from another source something is wrong with the pan or the pipe leading to the pan. If you have water and Ice Maker it;s possible you have sprung a leak in the water lines leading to the dispenser near the floor and behind the kick plate. The water lines on those models enter the bottom hinge of the door.Best way to see what is happening with the condensate pan is unplug and pull refrigerator away from wall and remove cover over compressor and condenser area to examine the pan closely. See if you can locate that model number and I will return with some helpful links, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Condensation at top of inside refrigerator

you have a drain hose from the top back of the freezer down to the condensate pan on the bottom of the refrigerator near the floor
this hose is blocked causing ice to build up behind the rear inner wall.
remove the back of the freezer wall and using a funnel pour hot water in to the hose to clear the condensate hose also remove all the ice behind the wall; remove the back cardboard to see the water come through the hose into the condensate tray when you pour the water it should pour right through if it's clear

I have a roper RT21AKXGW00 refrigerator and water settles in the bottom of it and in the crisper draws, is this some sort of blockage?

I have the same model refrigerator and don't have a solution but I think I have more information on the problem. In mine, water will leak periodically from the condenser leading up to the freezer (inside the refrigerator, at the top, center, back of the main compartment). I have seen it leak and it isn't a constant leak but when it leaks it can pour out at a pretty high rate.
In mine, the water will collect in the deli drawer (near the top), the crisper drawers at the bottom, and under the crisper drawers. When it happens, I use a sponge to soak it up and wring into a bowl.
To minimize the impact, I have set up a cup or dish near the back of the fridge to catch the leak. I empty this every couple weeks or whenever it fills up, but I'm looking for more information on a fix (I think the problem has to do with the condenser - that's the lead I got when I found this post).

Overflowing drip pan under the fridge

for reallybsq
problem could be door seals not sealing completely and hence excessive ice formed on evaporator and excess water when it melts. however, i have found this problem many times with large larder fridges and really found no cure.

for guest.
towards the bottom of the back wall, there is a gulley with a drain hole in the middle. this drain is blocked. clear it with something flexible and make sure water flows away freely

Hot Point Refrig.

this could have been due to leaving door open by accident so excess ice formed. water just evaporates with heat from the compressor
