If you have tried using the auto setting and it is still doing the blurry pictures it sounds like a problem with your camera not the settings themselves.
This blog http://www.teleplancamerarepair.com/camera-repair-blog/post/Got-Blurry-Pictures-Blurry-Image.aspx suggests a couple of the reasons might be:
"When your image appears distorted and with altered colors, in most of the cases there are two possible reasons:
- The internal shutter gets stuck , does not open completely or
-
The image sensor is damaged.... "

My olympus FE-240 takes blurry pictures in night mode.

It's you...in night mode the shutter stays open much longer...plenty of time for you to move the camera. Use a tripod.

When i take pictures on the night setting they all are blurry and distorted. why?

Hello,

Try the steps below.

1. Make sure you are using the Night mode.
2. Rotate the mode dial at the top of the camera and set it to Night (it has star icon).
3. Take a picture.

Hope it works.

Thanks.

The night setting results in blurry pictures

The grain is from underxexposure and the blur is from hand shake caused by low shutter speed. Try using a tripod. Also, change from auto settings and shoot in manual mode with a high ISO and low aperture setting. Good luck!

Pictures all blurry

Are you trying to take the images in low light? If so, use some support like a tripod. If you can't find a support, try using a higher ISO speed.

Blurry pictures

Check to see what the setting is for Image Size (I have sony cybershot DSC-w50). On the camera itself, it is the button on the bottom. My camera was on the 8"x10" size and I was getting blurry shots (especially with people in them). I switched it to the 4x6 print size and it seems to be much clearer.
