CCD Failure/Lens Cap Warning Error
JVC has received reports that in certain circumstances, the following models may, while in the camera mode, show no picture, a distorted picture and/or display “LENS CAP” even though the lens cap is removed. We have identified the probable cause as a failure of the CCD image sensor. Repairs of units exhibiting these problems as a result of a defect in the CCD image sensor will be made free of charge at a JVC Authorised Service Centre even if the unit is outside warranty. If the view finder shows the same white display. You probably have display circuit problem in the camera. Faulty CCD chip usually shows Black screen so it probably board problem or a connector problem. If you see an image through view finder then you may have defective connection from board to LCD assy. Either way it need to be looked at by a trained technician. Good luck.

The component that fell out is called a tape guide. The guide assembly fits into the guide rail on the supply side (left side) of the drum. You will notice another guide to the right, this is the take up guide assy, it sits in the guide rail assembly as well. There will be a silver shaft sticking up from the guide rail where the tape guide should be seated, with gentle pressure, the guide should snap back on and the unit should operate correctly.
