D-Link DI 514 Wireless Router (DI-514) Logo

Internet Connectivity I seem to be able to get the icon at the bottom right corner to tell me that I got an excellent signal strength, and it says that it's "connected," but whenever I click any of my browsers nothing happens and I get a page unavailable screen! Is that a router, modem, hub, or secondary router problem? I got DSL coming in from my daughters room into a D-LINK WIRED ROUTER, that router goes out to 3 other connections (one of which is the incoming line to the D-LINK 514 WIRELESS ROUTER to the WAN PORT) and one of those ports goes to a hub to three other ports. Now is this the problem? My daughters room appears to work great and mine works fine as long as the LAN CORD is plugged in. Once I unplug it, and try to setup the wireless, I can no longer get online. Can you please send me an email with SPECIFIC DETAILED (DOS FOR DUMMIES STYLE) instructions STEP BY STEP on what to do to get it working again? Thanks a lot! I had the wired computer without internet, and the wireless fundtioning OK. I fixed the IP address and the wired computer shows internet connection, but the internet itself won't work. I tried to change the settings (I in fact only added a new WEP password) via the wireless computer, and now neither will work, although both show 'excellent connection'.

Hi, IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE able to get connected thru a wired connection but not through a wless connection. right. >?

then it seems that the issue is not with the router but with wireless settings of the router, are you also getting any error message
like imited or no connectivity in between ,,,, r u suing a secured or unsecured wireless connection ? what is the name of your wireless connection , make sure you r conncting to your ow wless network. '

on the wireless icon- in the system tray
make a right click, select " view available wireless connections"
select you connection and click on "connect" if u r online now u can add me to yahoo messenger [email protected]
on messenger the troubleshooting can be faster n if u r online then i can do a remote session to your router and correct it now.. plz respond , waiting , in mails it might take time.

I am unable to go online. Signal strength through my router is excellent

1) Check if the network cables attached to your wireless routers are connected properly.
2) Check if the internet connectivity LED flashes, if not then there is an issue with your internet and you need to call your Internet service provider.

Computers have limited connection to linksys wrt54g although signal is full strength

Limited connectivity
If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.
Also try resetting the wireless router by turning off the power to the wireless router for a few minutes and the boot up your computers.

DIR-815 Signal strength excellent but no internet

Possibly the power outage caused your modem to reset. The wired connection would still work. first thing I would try is to reset the modem with the reset button, login to the management console and put in your network name and password again.

Hi there I cannot get my laptop to connect to internet even though it says there is excellent signal, status is limited or no connectivity. I am really not technical so please answer in the most simplistic...

Where it shows about the signal, the Icons bottom right? Right click on it and click troubleshoot. It should check everything out. Where is the wi/fi at? Your house or in public. You may have to type in the numbers on the router. Or turn it off and back on.

My router is not gettting connected with laptop. Its hsowing lmited connectivity problem eventhough the signal strength is excellent.

Sometimes the router does not issue an IP address to the laptop and you get this error message.
Right click on the wireless icon on the Task Bar and click on Repair. The router will issue a new IP address to your laptop and you will be able to get Internet connection.

I just moved into a new apartment and I am currently attempting to use the same linksys router that I used at my old place (without difficulity). My lap top in the bottom right corner displays...

> excellent connectivity

This refers to the wireless connection between your computer & your router, not to the connection from your cable-modem (or DSL-modem) out through your ISP to the Internet.

If you use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer directly to the cable/DSL modem, do you still have "intermittent" problems?
If so, then your router (or other wireless devices, such as your neighbours' router, or your neighbours' wireless telephones that are trying to operate on the same broadcast frequency) is the problem.
