You should always update the graphics card driver first.
If that doesn't help, does it crash to the desktop, or does it crash and shuts your computer down?
If it crashes to the desktop, then your system might not meet the system requirements of the game.
If it shuts your computer down, then you might not have enough power, some hardwares are not compatible, or that the speed of some components are too high and unstable (unstable overclocking).
However, it's just possible that the game isn't working the way it should and just needs a reinstallation.

Well here, ill do this and explain this out the best I can. The computer has been shutting straight off in the middle of just playing WoW. or Oblivion. or any game that I install. I tried tweeking with the graphics settings and the same thing keeps happening. Though on a regular shut down. my power light goes off. when it shuts down on the middle of a game and i mean just shut right off. the light stays on and i have to hold the power button down to turn it of and back on again. The mother board is not great. but ill explain what I have in this computer.
One gig of RAM
640 GIGs of memorie of hard drive
a 6600 Nvidia graphics card
and 2 Intel Pentium D CPU 2.66GHz.
Windows 7 Ultimate *not RC Version*
The mother board can only hold 2 gigs saddly. and the grahpics card i still need to know the limits on the mother board before i decide to replace it. So right now i am trying to get it to work with what it has. and everything is compatible with it.
