MAYTAG STOVE PROBLEM...NEED HELP

Maytag electric stove approximately 8 years old. Today while using the oven (Bake setting), after about 20 minutes the stove displayed F1, beeped, shut off the bake element, but entergized the broiler element. I tried canceling all indicators but eh over would not respond, or turn off the broiler. I switched off the breaker, waited 30 minutes and turned on the breaker. The clock came back on but the broiler started heating up.

Is this a control panel issue or possibly a sensor?

Yes the broiler came on automatically during the F1 error and beeping. Like I said. Thanks for suggesting the wires, I checked all wires and they seem fine. No it does not say Broiler or anything, the broiler just starts up. Tried it again today (after 24 hours) same thing, the broiler comes on and will not shut off unless you shut off the breaker. Could the touch pad be shorted? or one of the pads in the touch pad stuck? This is an excellent stove so I would rather repir than replace (If possible).

My "cancel off" switch will not work. I just replaced the oven control assembly (clock) and everything works just fine except the Cancel Off switch does not work now. I have a new relay board (downdraft) on order now, too, but I doubt it will fix this problem. The Cancel Off switch was working fine until I replaced the oven control assembly, which was necessary because other controls were not working. A new front panel costs $286 from Sears, so I would prefer to fix this switch somehow, if possible.

Broiler comes on automatically while oven is on. I have to shut off the breaker to get stove to cut off.

The baking element will not shut off. I started by turning bake on then when I turned broil on the baking element went off until I turned broil off then the baking element came back on and won't shut off.

I have a frigidaire duel fuel range and tonight when I went to bake the broiler came on and would not shut off until I shut the breaker off. F1 and F3 appeared and would not go away after hitting cancel.

The broiler came on automatically??? not a sensor issue. sounds as if you have a broken wire perhaps, or a faulty control panel energizing the broil element w/o being prompted to. does it say its broiling when element comes on??

Mgr8775 keeps shutting off during bake

mine does the same, the sears tech investigated today and was told by the tech support that it is a known issue and the ignitor module and burner need replaced. I'm mad at getting a replacement range [for another maytag failure under warranty] with a known issue that leaves us without a reliable oven for a month!

My Maytag Performa oven and stove top will not turn on (heat up)

When I turn on my Maytag performa using the "bake" function, everything looks ok on the display, however the temp. never rises above 100. I've tried "bake" and "convect", and neither one work. "Clean" doesn't work either. The oven will lock, and display shows that it's heating up, but temp. never rises.
However....."broil" feature works just fine.
Please help.

Oven won't work. Maytag Performa Stove. Broiler and burners work.

sounds like your bake element is gone
but the model number would help a great deal

pul out the stove unplug it, take off the back, and inspect the connections on the bottom element

if its gas its probably your ignitor
take out the racks
take out the bottom
set to bake
you should see a very bright light within a minute
if you dont thats the ignitor

anyway both parts are available
and both are a pretty starigt forward repair

When I press BAKE to preheat the oven or CLOCK to set the time the display goes blank, then the number 30 appears, and then the clock time resets itself. I can still use the oven to preheat or bake, but...

I have the same problem. I bought it new in the fall of 2007. They replaced the control panel but that didn't help. Next they replaced the whole range with a new one, same model, still the same problem. They told me it was a problem with my electric in my house. Then they said it was a strange electro-magnetic field in my neighborhood and I would have to buy a different brand?
One time with the original stove the oven quit working and I had to re-set the breaker. Everything still works but the clock is always wrong.
We bought all Maytag stuff, including fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. The kitchen stuff is 4 years old. The washer and dryer are 3 years old. We have had this issue with the stove, the washing machine broke and they had to replace the whole drum assembly, and last week my refrigerator broke. Very disappointed with Maytag stuff.
So has anyone found a solution?

How do i get to the fuse on the maytag stove

your stove doesnt have any internal fuses. if you are not getting "any" of the units to get fully hot, then you might have a house fuse that has blown or a breaker that has tripped. it is also possible that the cord has a burnt connection at the rear of the unit where it connects to the units block.
if you only have no heat in the oven, then you may have just a burnt out bake element.

Cannot figure out how to make oven work

Hi, try this and see if will help you. Most of the Gemini models are the same.

To set Bake:
1. Press the Bake pad.
• BAKE will flash.
• 000 will flash in the display.
2. Select the oven temperature. Press the
Autoset 0 pad for 350° F or the appropriate
number pads.
• Each additional press of the Autoset 0 pad will increase
the temperature by 25 degrees.
• The oven temperature can be set from 170° to 550°.
3. Press Bake pad again or wait four seconds.
• BAKE will stop flashing and light in the display.
